No, they were those duster/sweeps or whatever they call them.

"Oh, it's you. Hello!"

Bert, breaking the fourth wall in Mary Poppins.

Oh, I think we've been talkin' about two totally different groups of people!! LOL I had just put a quote from Mrs. Banks (when she was working on the suffergettes movement), so my mind was on THAT, and when you said "they", I thought you meant Mrs. Banks, and the women!! LOL

Bert: Speakin' o' names, I know a man with a wooden leg named Smith.

Uncle Albert: What's the name of his other leg?

?Mary Poppins?

No, no. I was talking about all the chimney sweeps.

"Mad as a March Hare."

Dawes Jr. in Mary Poppins.

Doesn't he mean Mad Hatter?

Yeah, I knew you meant the sweeps when you said "brooms", or whatever----that's what prompted me to tell you I got it mixed-up.

As for why not "Mad Hatter": Maybe "Mad Hare" is just another British saying. They're both Disney movies (Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland). Maybe they just didn't want to make a reference to another movie. I dunno....

Michael: [talking about Mary Poppins] We better keep an eye on this one. She's tricky.

Mary Poppins: Close your mouth, please, Michael. We are not a codfish.

Laverne and Shirley

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
Schlemeel, schlemazel, hasenfeffer incorporated.

We're gonna do it!

Give us any chance, we'll take it,
Give us any rule, we'll break it.

We're gonna make our dreams come true,
Doin' it our way.

Nothin's gonna turn us back now,
Straight ahead and on the track now.

We're gonna make our dreams come true,
Doin' it our way.

There is nothing we won't try,
Never heard the word impossible.

This time there's no stopping us,
We're gonna do it.

On your mark, get set, and go now,
Got a dream and we just know now,
We're gonna make our dream come true.

And we'll do it our way, yes our way.

Make all our dreams come true.

And do it our way, yes our way.

Make all our dreams come true,
For me and you.

LOL "Cactus butt" LOL

The Mary Tyler Moore Show

Who can turn the world on with her smile?

Who can take a nothing day,
and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?

Well it's you girl, and you should know it,
With each glance and every little movement you show it.

Love is all around, no need to waste it,
You can have a town, why don't you take it.

You might just make it after all.

You might just make it after all.

"I'm saying you're what's wrong with America, Simpson. You coast through life, you do as little as possible, and you leech off of decent, hardworking people like me. Heh, if you lived in any other country in the world, you'd have starved to death long ago."

Frank Grimes in The Simpsons.

The Brady Bunch

It's the story,
Of a lovely lady,
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls.

All of them had hair of gold, like their mother,
The youngest one in curls.

Here's the story,
Of a man named Brady,
Who was busy with three boys of his own.

They were 4 men,
Living all together,
Yet they were all alone.

Until one day when this lady met this fellow,
And they knew that it was much more than a hunch,
That this group might somehow form a family,
That´s the way we all became the Brady Bunch.

The Brady Bunch,
The Brady Bunch,
That's the way we became the Brady Bunch.

"AHA! Big mistake, pal! Ho-ho! I knew he'd slip up sooner or later!"

(The guys are playing Dungeons & Dragons, with Sheldon as GM.)
Sheldon: The entrance to the dungeon is a moss covered door. You manage to open it only to find yourself face-to-face with a hideous, foul-smelling, moss-covered ogre. What do you do?
Howard: I say, "Hey Ma, what's for dinner?"

"The Big Bang Theory"

(Say, what is Penny's last name? Maybe it will finally be revealed if/when she and Leonard get married)

"While Governor Bailey is beloved by all, 98% of the voters rate you as despicable or worse."

Campaign Man to Mr. Burns in The Simpsons.
