Because I should be rid of him since he died. The whole time he was living I prayed that he would die. At age 75, he died a natural death. Born 1913 - I guess he died 25 years ago. But did he go away? Naw.

Why didn't I phrase my question to make it clear it was being asked of the universe as a whole without respect to any particular issue or person?

I don't now how your father visits you but mine haunts my days, opining on everything e.g. "That's no way to make ice cubes, Stupid." He pops (pun!) up everywhere. I fear the sneak-up concussion, although it doesn't happen. But the fear is there.

Why couldn't I be haunted by Mom? But she never dared contradict him so why would she start now.

Perhaps if you do, the universe as a whole will answer you.

Do you know I believe you, Claradoon?

Would you believe I see my father very frequently in my dreams, and we talk so often that it seems he hasn't left?

Did you know he told me of a wonderful gift I would receive, an hour before it truly arrived as a surprise?

Did you know we danced to "You're the Best Thing" by The Style Council in my dream, and I swear it was real?

Does fenkis know everything will be OK with his situation, of which I read?

Is that the difference between you and me, benevolent/malevolent fathering? Forever?

Personally, I don't know. But I have read that 'Why?' is the biggest, most basic, most difficult question.
All my best wishes to you.

Do you know that I have issues with my (living) mother, similar to yours with your father?

I am very sorry to hear that.
But this is a patriarchy; is it facile for me to be jealous of you? Ah, mayhap you'd be jealous of me.
We yin-yang.
One of my biggest heroes is that suffragette who threw herself in front of a horse-race.

That was in front of the King's horse wasn't it?

Did Claradoon know I threw myself into the path of a bike-a-thon and got run over by cyclists, when I was six?
Did you know it was somewhat Suffragettey?

Do you know that Suffragettes tended to look pretty and elegant in their Edwardian outfits?

Did you know I did it for love?

Did you know that Suffragettes frequently found love amongst the progressive guys of that era?
