Why do I miss her? Is it her stupid sentences which mean absolutely nothing in Finnish? Moomin. Come back, will you?

How do I picture you? You have said you're brunette. Brown hair, chestnut perhaps? As for me, I am exceptionally tall let alone my age, I am two meters. Basket ball size. You?

This island 'Nauru'......is it one that used to use its neighbors as a supply of fresh meat?

In your 7:03 pm post you mentioned 'laughter'.......you do realize that 'laughter' is one letter away from 'slaughter'.........remember what happened to Captain Cook?

Vacations are over-rated, I think.....the Achille Lauro was a cruise ship you know, as was/is the Concordia.

Not to even think about the Titanic, even if the song is lovely.

I think that Moomin should stay home and watch travel movies.

Like 'Jurassic Park'.

it's a super tiny island, about one 10th of DC's size. used to have vast amounts of phosphate deposits.

because of that they were once the richest people in the world, per-capita.
now, 40% of the population is diabetic.

Wouldn't a tour of 'Guaranteed Haunted' Irish castles be more fun?

Or Bavarian Castles?

Or Palenque?

Or WrongPlanet?

Once many years ago a friend and I signed up for a cave tour in one of our deep cave systems. We descended to about 600 metres underground. The tour group had to crawl through low tunnels half filled with water. At certain points we had to climb vertically down chimneys" in the dark. We were extra careful because the tour guide said that if anyone fell, he'd leave them to die down there - a sure-fire motivation to encourage everyone to look after themselves.

They took us to the Crystal Chamber and all flashlights were switched off for a minute or so to get a sense of the darkness.

I felt a bit bad because I accidentally knocked a stalactite off the roof with my head. My small headache was momentary compared to the millions of years the poor stalactite took to grow...

BTW I'm really gonna miss dear Moomingirl.

Maybe we must post pics on here for her, so she has to scroll a few pages back and see the images we posted for her.

Here goes...

Dear Kip,

Why is the bloodhound eating a carrot?

Are they sending him out to search for Bugs Bunny?

Dear Sylkat

It was me that posted the carrot-crunching canine.:albino:

I don't think she's a bloodhound. Looks more like a Weimaraner.

Mooms is gone...? :(

Enviro, I think I've been to the same caves? I remember there was this one part that was somehow difficult to get through. And somebody had told me before the start of the tour that once you start the tour you can't go back the same way, so I was terrified my parents would just leave me in the caves for all eternity if I couldn't get through. But now that I think of it, I was a really skinny 10-year-old so I'm not sure why I was convinced I would be the only one who wouldn't manage it and would have to learn to live in the caves. :D

Kip, the hamster is really cute! :D

So the Bloodhound/Weimaraner is going to track missing carrots in deep dark crystal caves?

Thank you for clarifying.

Riikka, it was the Sudwala Caves. They have some tricky sections. Most people just do a short basic tour but they offer a six hour trip to the deep dark ones. After the tour, we washed the dirt off in the nearby river. :D

Sylkat, yep, someone hid poor Bugs' carrots deep underground and he's offered a huge reward to the finders. Maybe you'd like to join the Weimaraner / Bloodhound cross on the search so you can get a year's supply of tea and cupcakes? :)
