The Pokemon Opal Roleplay! (Please read the first message!)
[Oh, no, not a tutorial!
]
Dream stood back as the other approached, and made sure that the Gyarados wasn't thinking of going anywhere.
They nodded impassively to Dan and Rose.

Ghost looked at Gyrados curiously. "So you have your Pokemon partners battle wild Pokemon, and... you earn their respect, so they want to join you and will stay in these Pokeball things?" she asked, "Is that right?"
Bagon shook the water off itself and backed a respectful distance away from Gyrados.

Upon seeing Gyarados, Bulbasaur started to get startled, making it shudder.
"Bulbasaur, what's wrong?", Jamie asked.
"B-Bulba…", Bulbasaur said hesitantly.
"Oh, that's right," Professor Oak said, "That's Gyarados's Intimidate."
"Intimidate?", Jamie asked.
"Yes, it's an ability that, when a Pokémon first enters the battle, it startles the opposing Pokémon, lowering their physical attack power. It makes it harder for the opponent to make decent damage that way."
"Alright," Jamie said. "Bulbasaur, get a hold of yourself and use Razor Leaf!"
Bulbasaur then did what Jamie commanded, and throws out countless amount of leaves sharp as daggers toward Gyarados. The leaves hit Gyarados, dealing decent amount of damage, but it seemed to make Gyarados really angry.

Dream made a bucket appear out of nowhere and scooped up some of the water from the pond, pointedly ignoring the Gyarados glaring at them. Then they sat down and cast their fishing line into the bucket, pointedly ignoring everyone staring at them.

Gyarados then fires a spray of bubbles at Bulbasaur out of rage, hitting it and knocking it back.
"Bulbasaur, are you okay?!", Jamie cried out.
"Bulbasaur!", Bulbasaur said eagerly as if to say I'm alright!
"Was that a Bubblebeam attack?", Professor Oak asked, "It can't be! It hasn't been possible since....!"
The Gyarados charged at Bulbasaur, opening its mouth and preparing to chomp on Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur!", Jamie called, "Dodge, and use Vine Whip!"
Then Bulbasaur evaded Gyarados's attack, then extended its vines from underneath its bulb, and WHACK!, lacerated Gyarados right in the face!
"Now, use Razor Leaf, again!", Jamie called out. Then Bulbasaur throws out razor-sharp leaves toward Gyarados once again, damaging it.
Then Gyarados started to get really exhausted.
"PokeBall!," Jamie yelled, "Go!" Then she throw the Pokeball at Gyarados. Then Gyarados got sucked into the Pokeball, then the Pokeball fell to the ground, and shook three times. But after the third shake, Gyarados forced itself out of the Pokeball it was trapped in.
"Oh, no!", Jamie yelled.
Then Gyarados started to go on a ramage, and charges toward at Bulbasaur. The attack hit Bulbasaur, causing it to take major damage.
"Bulbasaur!", Jamie yelled.
"Bulba!", Bulbasaur wailed in pain. Bulbasaur then landed on the ground. But Bulbasaur then got back up again, but only barely so, since it got hurt pretty badly.
"Oh, what should I do?", Jamie asked.
"Have you heard about putting your opponents under a condition?", Professor Oak asked.
"Condition?"
"Yes, it's type of negative ailment you inflict on your opponents to help get yourself a major advantage in battle. The main conditions are: Paralysis, Sleep, Poison, Burn, Confusion, and Frozen. They can also help capture Pokémon more easily when affected by those conditions. I believe your Bulbasaur has the move Sleep Powder, which puts your enemies to sleep upon hitting them."
"Okay, I get it," Jamie said, then she turned to her Bulbasaur, and commanded, "Bulbasaur, use Sleep Powder!"
Bulbasaur then sprayed a blueish-colored spore towards Gyarados. The Powder then hits Gyarados, making it calm down, then feel drowsy, and then layed flat on the ground, snoring.
"Okay, then," Jamie said, taking out another Pokeball, throws it at Gyarados, saying, "Pokeball, Go!"
The Pokeball then hits the sleeping, exhausted Gyarados, which sucks Gyarados inside it, and the Pokeball fell to the ground. The Ball then shook at least three times, and then....ding! The Pokeball then went motionless.
"Congratulations, Jamie!", Professor Oak cheered, clapping his hands a couple of times, "You have just captured your first wild Pokémon!"
Jamie then smiles, and runs up to the Pokeball with her newly captured Gyarados inside it. Her Bulbasaur follows. Then she picks up the Pokeball, lifts it above her head, and said cheerfully, "Yay, I've caught Gyarados!"
"Bulbasaur!", her Bulbasaur said in joyous agreement.

[I'm sorry for not posting in so long!]
Dream surveyed the scene with a quizzical expression. Perhaps this place is as weird as Wyrd. They said quietly.
Then they approached Dan and Rose. This world is a peculiar one indeed. I would gladly like to know more about it.

"Sure, we'd be glad to," I responded to Dream.
Professor Oak then came up to Jamie, gave her a singular applause, saying, Well, done, Jamie. You've just catched your very first wild Pokémon." Then he frowns a bit, and stared at Jamie.
"Professor....?", Jamie said nervously, "Is something wrong?"
"Oh, I'm sorry!", the professor snapped, "It's just that....you kinda looked like someone familiar....Anyway, have you talked to your family about going on an adventure?"
"Well, now that you've mentioned it," Jamie said, "I have talked to her about it often, but now since I have my own Pokémon now, I think I'll go talk to her sometime today if it's alright if I can go."
Then one of Jamie's friends came up to her and said, "You were awesome, Jamie! You totally deserve to be a Pokémon trainer!"
Then Professor looked at his watch, and said, "Oh, dear." Then he walked up to me, Rose, Jamie, and all the others, and said, "Well, I think it's time for me to take my leave. All I can say is for now is good luck on your future Pokémon journey and stay safe." Then he gave us a very reassuring smile.
"Goodbye, Professor Oak!", me, Jamie, and Rose said, "Be safe on your way back!"
"Thank you!", he responded. Then the professor took his now-closed briefcase, waved at us once more, and left the park, then leaving town.

A most peculiar individual. Dream said, watching the professor leave. They smiled. Though, from my perspective, everyone here is.

"So," Rose started to say, "I guess we should head back now and get ready, right?"
"Well," I responded, "It's a pretty nice day out, so why don't we just hang out here for a while. And maybe tomorrow, we'll leave for our adventure. We still need to get our things ready, anyway."
"Yeah, that's a pretty good idea," Jamie said, "I still need to tell my folks that I'm going out on an adventure, too."
"Shedinja!", Shedinja said gleefully.
"Aw, thanks," Jamie responded, blushing a bit.

I have not yet decided what I will do. Perhaps wander. Perhaps not. Dream mused. This is a strange land, indeed.

(Yep, I'm fine, just haven't really had anything to add - I've been in lurker mode a fair bit recently
)
Ghost hesitantly approached the group, with Nihilego at her side.
"Um, if you guys wouldn't mind..." she said, "When you head off... would it be okay if we join you? Nihilego and I... well, we don't really know much about this world, and we have nowhere to go. I think it will take a while for the people from the lab we were raised in to even figure out what world we escaped to, so I don't think anyone will come after us soon... but we'd completely understand if you don't want to risk it, or if we'd be too much trouble."
Bagon came up behind her and gently headbutted her leg. "Ba-Bagon!" it said.
"Oh, you want to come with us?" Ghost replied, "Well, if you're sure, I guess there's no reason not to."
"Bagon!" Bagon cried delightedly.

"Shedinja!", Shedinja responded in delight.
"Wow, the more, the merrier!", Jamie said.
"And I've just noticed that we all have two Pokémon each; my Ninjask and Squirtle, her Bulbasaur and Gyarados, my annoying cousin's Shedinjerk and Chumpmander, and your, um...Nihilego, is it, and that blue Pokémon here?", Rose said, pointing at Bagon.
'Shedinjerk'? 'Chumpmander'? Wow, she REALLY dissed my Pokémon big time. I wanted to get into conniptions with her, but I decided that now's not the best time to do it. We need to enjoy this day while we can before we leave for our journey tomorrow.
My Shedinja, on the other hand....
"Shedinja….", Shedinja responded angrily from being called 'Shedinjerk'.
And then I just had a thought about Ghost.
"Oh, wait," I asked Ghost, "Do you have anywhere to stay for the night, Miss Ghost?"

"Great!" said Ghost, "I'm really looking forward to exploring this world and learning more about it."
"Ni-Nihi!" Nihilego agreed. It had picked up Bagon and was twirling it around. Both of them seemed delighted.
"I guess we do each have two Pokemon companions now." said Ghost, "What a coincidence. The little blue Pokemon is called Bagon, by the way. Um... I guess we don't really have anywhere to stay tonight, but that's okay. This spot is so nice and the weather's so pleasant, I wouldn't mind just staying here tonight."

"I dunno…", I responded, "Um, would you like to stay at my place for tonight?"
"Ooh~," Rose said teasingly, "You want us to invite a girl over at our place? What....plans to really have~?"
"What?!", I responded defensively, "Nothing! I just don't want her to sleep outside alone in the park! I'm NOT really planning to--!"
"Why not stay at MY place tonight?", Jamie offered, "We have a spare bedroom, and me and my friends are going to have a slumber party tonight, anyways."
