It's your fault that I have to vote in federal elections in a month's time.

(Yep, voting is compulsory here.)

Do you get shot if you don't vote? 8O

Your own fault if you do.

No, you get fined.

I got fined $150 one year for not voting in local council elections (I had planned to, but forgot to go to the polling booth after work that day).

But I would've gotten away with it, if it weren't for that meddling ... you!

I would have no difficulties in believing this happened in Albania in the 1970's, but in Australia today!

Your fault I'm totally disillusioned!

Compulsory voting has been around in Australia for about 100 years, now. We're used to it, and it's not that big an issue, politically.

But if you think that's bad ... twice in the last 3–4 years here in Australia, a democratically elected prime minister has been deposed by his/her own party, mid-term! Man, politics annoys me sometimes. Oh well, every political system has its problems, and overall Australia's isn't TOO bad.

On another topic, it's your fault that Australia doesn't have as good an education system as Finland has (or so I've heard).

It's all YOUR fault that the instant I walked outside with a tasty bowl of nice hot homemade soup, some great big fat fly landed in it and started squirming around.
Dammit, why did you make it do that ? You're a poo-face for doing that.

I know, right? Based on last night's political debate, I dislike Rudd's policies a bit less than Abbott's so I'll probably be voting for Mr Boomerang (in-and-out-and-in-again) over Mr Rabbit.

And it's your fault that I don't like either Brussels sprouts or cabbage.

Gillard's way of speaking certainly didn't help her.

It's your fault that Julia Gillard talks like she's had a stroke. You probably gave her one. :P

Funny I was just reading a thread in the general Autism discussion about not liking the sounds of people's voices.
That awful drawl of Gillard"s would grate on anyone.

Your fault I had to press the mute button on my radio or TV everytime she spoke.

Can you imagine that Stephanie Banister was on our TV news the other day? It's your fault you have such interesting candidates.

On the other hand, it's our very own fault that the president of the US, George Bush the younger, didn't want to have anything to do with our president after she had straightened his tie in a live TV broadcast. (Some ten years ago, that is.)

Really? Stephanie Banister? Good grief ...

"Islam is a country" ... yeah, well done, mate. Not quite up there with those "legitimate rape" senators in the US, but still a national joke.

Sigh ... thanks for reminding me, Krabo.

OTOH, Tony Abbott did make this stunning statement about his opponent earlier today:

Quote:
"You don’t get good decisions from government if all the decisions are simply made by one person.
“No one – however smart, however well-educated, however experienced – is the suppository of all wisdom.” (emphasis mine)

:lmao: :wtg:

Suppository  they were talking about that on 3aw today.
I wouldn't want him as a nurse. 8O
