it looks goofy to me. just a face on a thing, no real depth to it, it looks flat. no toes either...just stumps. :|

It's always sounded like Trio, Trio, Trio to me. Notice they never say 'Dug'.

Okay then. Not all Pokemon say their names all the time. Charmander would sometimes just say. "Char! Char!" and Bulbasaur "Bulba! Bulbasaur!", and Pikachu has many ways of saying his name in the anime.
