I hope Moomingirl sees that because she wants to learn as much Finnish as possible.

Are your days slowly but surely getting a little less short?

Imagine if, instead of a Great Dane, you got a pedigreed Great Finn.

There are few great Finns. To name but a few, I'd like to mention Martti Ahtisaari. And yes, I know that there are great South Africans. -- Nice to see you again Enviro. Know what? I missed your warm humour.

Yes. That's the worst part about spring and summer. Eventually it gets so light at night that you can't really have any sleep. The same must be true where you are from, light November and December.

Not really: the latest the sun sets here is around 8 pm in Port Elizabeth and perhaps around 8.30 in Cape Town. In Johannesburg just after 7, even in midsummer.

The winter days are quite short, especially in the Durban area where it's always dark by 5.30 pm.

I hope you're going to stay with us a good while and share some of your great pics and insights / sagacious wisdom with new members.

Know what Enviro? I've never before been called sagacious! Not ever. And yes, I checked the word in a dictionary. -- Dankie my vriend.
