living off machines provided i can hear see and feel and communicate in some way (i know someone who communicated with an eye controlled computer in the year 2006)

With a machine provided I can get someone to scratch my back when it itches 
Live with terrible pain or die? (I lived with chronic pain for a year and know how debilitating it is)

(Strong pain killers are fine provided you don't have to continue earning a living
