You have to decide what happens next in the story.

You are in a castle. You have came from your home to talk to the king about the demons you have been seeing lately. A guard stands in your way into the castle. You try to convince him to let you in, but you attempts have failed and he just laughs at you. What will you do now?

I remind the guard that I am a respected King's messenger and that it is in the interests of the nation to be allowed to pass on my message.

The guard appears to be new and does not know me. He grunts and remarks that he hasn't seen me before.

I reply, telling him that I have not been here for many months due to my searches of demons in the kingdom. Less reluctant now, the guard passes to allow me in.

I walk along the dimly lit passage, only to find the door I thought the king would be found in is chained up with a "no unauthorised persons" sign hanging off of it. As I wonder how I could possibly have taken a wrong turn, an angry looking guard marches over from the shadows of a far doorway.

The angry looking guard approaches me.
"Why are you here?" he asks.
"I'm here to see His Majesty the King because of demons in my village."
"There are no demons!"
"Sir, I beg your pardon..."
I pull up my tunic and show the various scars all over my torso. The guard is taken by surprise.
"Sir," he continues, "I didn't know. They look like the marks of the Wollenstein beast."
"They are. May I please see the king for assistance?"

Suddenly, out of the passages all around me, spring out guards armed with rope and have swords at their belts. They have ample opportunity to grab me, handcuff me, gag me and bound rope around my legs. The angry guard looks at me right in the eye and laughs menacingly.
"May I please see the king for assistance? May I please see the king for assistance?" he mocks me. All the other guards start laughing heartily, with evil in their voices. I would answer back and ask what has happened to the king. But of course, I am gagged.
"I think the king, if anything, will need yourassistance!" the guard shouts. "Take him to where the king resides! The DUNGEON!"
My eyes widen with fright and realization of what has occured begins to dawn on me, as I am dragged down the dark flight of steps to the dungeon.

In the dungeon, I'm shocked to see the state of the King. Once a proud and regal figure, he has lost a great deal of weight, and his flowing white hair is scraggly and covered in dirt. He is clothed only in rags.

"My King!" I exclaim. "What has happened to you?"

"It's a long story." He replies, then looks around. "But I suppose we have plenty of time. Have a seat, I'll tell you what happened."

"I believe it is very much to do with... The demons."
"I was coming to tell you about the increasing number of demons!" I interrupt.
He nods, smiling. "You are a good man, thank you for keeping to your duty. Unfortunately, in your absence while you were away talking to villagers in the North, the demons have invaded the capital. They possess people, my Messenger and change their ways, forcing people to align with the forces of darkness. Some of my most trusted advisors, servants and as you saw, guards, have been overcome by this spreading surge of evil....

Shocked by the news, I pace the perimeter of the dingy cell a few times. Looking through the metal bars, I can just make out the flickering light of the guard at the end of the corridor.

"do you have a plan of action, my King?
Surely we can't be doomed to rot in here forever!"

The king chuckled at my optimism, and said "alas, all I have found are these few items" and pulls out of his pocket a collection of odd trinkets. They include:.......

... some string, broken glass, a small rock, and the royal necklace, but on closer examination it has a symbol of two snakes eating other.
"But sire this isn't the Eagle Eye, what happened to it?"
"That is the reason that the demons took over. They change my appearance and stole the Eagle Eye, and replaced me with an imposter. I not sure how they did it, and from what I have heard from the guards this king made changes to laws and forced people to work with the demons. At first they refused, but slowly they became possessed, and what surprises me the most is how you recognized me." The king looked at me for answer of this conundrum. I thought back to one particular day that changed me in ways I couldn't even believed at first. So I told him my story...

I was walking down the road. It was made of cobblestones, which struck my mind for an instance strange, for why is this Country Road made of stone? I continued down and spied a strange little town. Its buildings were of wood with roofs that looked like they were made of ceramic plates. The people wore hats with three corners, black. The clothing was also odd: It looked like they all wore pantaloons with white shirts covered in a brown jacket with brass buttons. The feet wore little black shoes with buckles. They seemed to stare at my apparel. One was carrying wat looked like an oddly shaped long stick with what looked like a wooden bulk at the far edge. He pointed the non bulky part at me, and said in a malicious tone of voice,"what are you doing around here, strange one?" I ran back down the road. He didn't seem friendly. Then I felt something graze my arm. I continued running. Suddenly, I saw some sort of gelatinous mass, made up of tendrils, vast as a hill, big enough to eat houses, and the occupants within. It cried out, over and over, in a hidieous piping voice, "tekilili! tekilili!" like some dreadful entity residing in an ancient, long dead city.

It did not out run me, but the words are still stuck in my mind.
