Do you notice license plates when you drive around? I always read license plates, and a lot of the personal ones are very clever. I saw one the other day that read "UR2CLOS." Do you have any good ones?

I'll start:

they are silly for the simple reason that they make you easier to track by anybody who takes issue with your driving.

The B8THOVEN plate was assigned to an organist and choir director I sang under with the local ecumenical choir until he resigned about 10 years ago, due to Alzheimer's. It was quite painful to watch him deteriorate.

As for vanity plates, I don't bother with them myself, since most people who get those plates are usually stuck up d*ck cheeses, and they're more expensive tha the standard issue plates. It's bad enough I shell out $36.00 a year to renew my vehicle registration in PA, but don't see any kind of improvement in the roads.

I thought of the 1960s TV show of that name.

Perhaps I'm dating myself by saying this, but
why do personalized licence plates make me think
of the old game show Bumper Stumpers?

No, wait: Here's the personalized licence plate
belonging to...Ellen Ripley.

<--- Has no sons, has no daughters. I saw the plate while I was driving in NY years ago. It just stuck with me.
