Met a few Russians playing hockey. I didn't take to them. They thought girls shouldn't be on the ice. I therefore took great delight in stealing the puck off them, or 'accidentally' putting them into the boards.

One of them actually developed a sense of humour when he realised I could actually play, and started acknowledging me when he saw me. The others still ignore me.

I've never met a Finn on the ice. In fact, apart from online, I've never met a Finn.

Except for online, I can't remember ever knowingly meeting a Finn. That might be because they are very content with Finland, which I haven't been to (yet!).

I just found out some friends of my husband have Finnish friends. If they lived in my village I might have asked for an introduction, so I could practice my listening and speaking, but they live more than an hour away, so that's not going to happen.
