I stopped at 1000. I feel charitable. Those were some obscure words, though. It was quite the refreshing challenge,

What they don't tell you is that for every word you get wrong, more landmines are distributed throughout the Third World.

I played this a few times before seeing this thread.
The highest vocab score I've gotten to was 42, and I'm pretty sure that by now I've donated about 10,000 grains of rice when combining all the time I've played.
