I started out with Green/black, so I still favor it.

Haven't played in 5 years though, and longer since
I bought cards.

I love my green mox, but also the Fallen Angel
(she is just SO pretty).

i played when i was in middle school. i used to pull my cards out for marching band trips my first couple years of college because a lot of the nerds played. it's a completely different game now, i probably couldn't even follow it. i am very upset by the new card format too.. the old ones were beautiful.. now it looks just like all the other ccg clones that suck.

favorite card: sliver queen. i used to have a deck with THREE of 'em... got really lucky with stronghold boosters. i figured out an infinite sliver token combo way before the famous one came along. i remember getting it on the table in a ten player game against high school and college nerds at the local hobby shop when i was around 14 and slaughtering them al.. probably the only time i ever won there. then i lost that deck (or it got stolen, maybe). now sliver queens are worth $40. damnit.

yeh, theres a lot of added new rules now, tough luck with the sliver queen its a classic sought after card, but still how can some people pay so much for a card.

the thing i don't like is that they massively dumbed down the basic gameplay, then added 4,000 new "easy" rules (like creature abilities), while simultaneously ruining the visual aspect of the game. it used to have a great, mystical feel, and understanding the complex subtleties of the rules and using them to my advantage used to be the main appeal for me. now anyone can learn in one game and reminder text covers the rest. the elimination of the learning curve took the satisfaction out of it, now it's just a game for fat nerds.

I used to play alot of magic back in my old college about a year ago, it was a daily thing back then. Although i wasnt really a big fan of it back then, i did like it, and all my friends were playing it, so i figured i would too
I still play it every once in a while nowadays, mostly at my friends house where we have so social gatherings to play.
I do miss the days though when i used to play in drafts, those were fun. I would like to start drafting again, but none of my friends really want to, and i dont want to go alone.

I haven't played Magic in a while, but I'm still a fan of it. I check out all the new sets, read the articles at magicthegathering.com, and so on. I haven't met any other Magic players since coming to college, but I still keep a few decks together.
