The lightbulb doesn't need changing, there is nothing wrong with it. It is just different. We should accept it the way it is.

An unexpectedly NICE joke.

90% or more of all jokes are either profane or for making mean fun of people.

What makes anyone think this is a nice joke?

What I see is a sarcastic remark insinuating that in fact Aspies are broken and useless and yet we naively insist that we're only different and misunderstood, when we really need to be changed or discarded...

 Maybe I'm just paranoid after years of abuse, but I think it's overly simplistic to accept it as 'nice', when it may in fact be snide ridicule aimed at a group without the social skills to recognize it as the insult that it is. Like patting someone on the back and saying "Hey, great job", when you only did it so you could tape a KICK ME sign to their back...

Only in the same way that applies to ALL lightbulb jokes. How many X does it take to change a lightbulb? The answer will be something stereotypical of an X in a way that finds a fault such that the answer isn't simply 1.

100 aspies:

38 to redesign the new light-bulb.
15 to redesign the electricity distribution grid.
25 to argue the politics and religious implications of "seeing the light" in PPR.
11 to create a thread in the Random forum about collecting light bulbs.
10 to discuss whether the old bulb should be considered "different" rather than just broken.
5 to feel depressed about the change of light bulb and talk about it in the Haven.
4 to complain how long it is taking to change the bulb in the WP Discussion forum.
3 to make puns and bad jokes about light bulbs.
1 to start a news item about broken light bulbs in the current events forum.
1 to get fed up with how long it is taking and just go and put in a new bulb.
1 to point out that the above list doesn't tally up to 100 aspies.

How many NTs does it take to change the light bulb?
One: that person holds the bulb, and expects the world to revolve around them.

More than one especially if you have to change a lightbulb with your bare hands thats been on for quite a while and is burning.
