Legend of Zelda (RP): Ressurection of Courage
OOC (Out of Character):This takes place after TP. Oh! And please read then entire plot carefully.
Story
It began with a solar eclipse. The moment the sun was swallowed by the moon, an mysterious portal appeared in the sky; and out of it came a being of unimaginable power and malice. Some say it was a demon. Others say it was a sorcerer; no one was entirely sure. But what everyone did know, was that it posed a huge threat towards the kingdom of Hyrule. The moment it set foot on the land, it began creating copious amounts of chaos ranging from slaughtering thousands of innocents to destroying countless landmarks.
Only one stood up to it: a young man clad in green garments wielding a holy blade and riding on a red mare. The two engaged in a fierce battle to the death that lasted for what could've been hours, days, even weeks. Finally, after a huge amount of time had passed, the being was finally destroyed... but to almost every happy ending, there comes a price. With the being's dying breaths, it snatched the shattered Master Sword away from the hero and with it, wounded him severely.
As he layed dying, the Three Goddesses took out of his body the Triforce of Courage, the very essence of each generation of the Hero of Time, and splitted it into several pieces. The reason why they did this was to keep the essence "alive" due to it being pierced by the Bane of Evil's Bane. If the essence should fade, then the legacy of the Hero of Time would be no more. They took these pieces and placed them in the Sacred Realm till they were to be "used" once more.
Legend has it, that those pieces of the Triforce of Courage shall become, not a single, but multiple individuals who will be destined to save Hyrule. A hundred years have passed since that fateful battle. During those years, several individuals have been born with the mark of the Triforce on their bodies which, unbeknowest to everyone except people like the Hyrule Royal Family and the guardian deities that protect this world, symbolizes their inevitable destiny.
And where there are heroes... there are also enemies.
The day of another solar eclipse is soon arriving... one exactly like the one that summoned the nameless evil to our world. If this eclipse should occur, something unspeakable is bound to happen. To make matters worse, there is a secret cult that, for their own reasons, will do whatever it takes to be sure that the Heroes Chosen by the Goddesses are as good as dead.
The fate of Hyrule rests in your hands.
But when the hour of fate arrives, one question still remains:
How can you kill something, when it's already dead?
OOC: Phew! Such a long intro! I can't believe I'm actually DONE with it! It took me several days to think of a plot. But that doesn't matter right now. Anyways, I have a few certain rules that I would like to post before posting the character template:
1. Godmoding - This is a BIG FAT HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE NO-NO! For those who don't know, godmoding is basically being like "immortal, indestructible, can kill a person with a single glance etc.". Basically, any ability that's seems like only a deity can do, is godmoding. However, this does not mean you can't cast magic spells.
2. Powerplaying - Again, for those who don't know, powerplaying is basically controlling everyone's character without the player's permission. You must get the owner of the character(s)'s permission before you commit this act.
3. Please write AT LEAST a paragraph per entry.
4. Once you're in this, you can't get out. DO NOT make the same mistakes I made. They will come back to bite you.
5. Romance with other characters - This is fine, but no sexual material. KEEP THE RELATIONSHIP INTIMATE!
6. Swearing - If you want to swear that's fine with me (don't worry, I'm not pressuring you), but, keep in mind that there are possibly younger children that might be viewing this. Then again, what are the odds of a seven year old reading this?
Yes, I do seem like a bit of a control freak ^^; (I inherited it from both of my parents) but I'll try not to be a bother.
Character template:

Royal Family
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Name: Cato Pulpit
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Hylian, but with a Gerudo ancestor (see below)
Physical appearence: Something like Shad from Twilight Princess, but with a touch of Tom Baker and David Tennant's Doctor Whos as well.
Personality: Somewhat acidic, sardonic, and arrogant. Tends to call people whom he has a low opinion of idiots. However, Cato does have a genuine desire to gain knowledge, and to use it to help others, and has respect for skilled people.
Magic?: Yes.
Musical instrument: The Elfild. This is basically the magical equivalent of a theremin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin Cato isn't naturally musically gifted, but loves playing around with this, which is basically a pair of metal rods connected to a small box, not unlike a rabbit-eared TV antenna.
Weapon(s): Prefers to use magic, but if needs be for close range combat, he uses a short sword and a crossbow. He's only a passable swordfighter.
Bio: Part of a family that has supplied tutors to the Royal Family in Hyrule for cenuries, Cato is well taught in many areas of Hyrulian legend, as well as magic. However, Cato Pulpit is not content with teaching the latest in the royal line magic and lore, but intends to become a roving scholar. Already, he is adept at all kinds of magic, including the forbidden dark (mastered by the Gerudo, in partcular Ganondorf and Twinrova) and Twilight (left behind in the last writings of the Twili) magics. He also likes to look for substantiation of the legends of the Sacred Realm, the Triforce, and the Hero of Time.
Despite his estrangement from his family, he maintains a line of communication with Princess Zelda, whom he had met a few times (no, we are not going to have any romance. They're strictly friends), and whom he feels is one of the finest minds in the Hyrule Kingdom living.
He has noticed an oddly shped mark on the back of his hand (Local_Outcast, what shape does the Triforce of Courage segment take? A triangle, or an irregular piece?), but until now, has not suspected that it is, in fact, part of the Triforce of Courage....
Trivia: One of Cato's maternal ancestors was a Gerudo. The offspring from that union rejected the thief's lifestyle of the Gerudos, and moved to Hyrule Castle Town, although she was discriminated against (I'd say this was between the events of Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, so it was partly because she was a thief, and partly due to Ganondorf being a Gerudo).
Cato cannot ride a horse, and his swordfighting skills are barely adequate. He is a good shot with a crossbow, however, and he can pummel an enemy into submission with magic.
Never seen without a tome in hand.

On sabbatical...
Huh... I haven't really thought about that. Now that you mention it, I say that an irregular piece would do nicely for now.
Anyways, welcome aboard!
I'll post my character up pretty soon. Just need to think of some good ideas first.
EDIT: Done!
Name: Aureole "Aure" Pikko
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Physical appearence: (Ignore the little girl on her head)
Personality: For someone of her fragile appearence, Aure is quite headstrong, bold and tomboyish with a rather fiery and aggressive temper. She's also well-known for being a very passive individual (she doesn't act that way on purpose) and for it, some may think of her as a bit of a non-chalant moron. While she may act this way, there's a bit of a more relaxed and cheerful side to her that only shows up often but not as often as it should. Just... try not to make her mad...
Magic?: Yes
Musical instrument: Bouzouki (Click here for a music sample)
Weapon(s): A shamshir-like sword and a 12-inch double edge dagger disguised as a fan. She also uses hand-to-hand combat when caught unarmed.
Bio: As an infant, Aure was found floating around in a basket inside the Light Spirit, Lanayru's, Spirit Spring. A former knight-now-blacksmith named Bran, was the one who found her while he was paying respects to the Light Spirit residing there. He wasn't sure what to do with her, but a mysterious voice that echoed throughout the cave coaxed him into taking her in and raising her. Feeling that he could use an apprentice, he decided to listen to the voice.
While she was growing up, Aure supported her adoptive father in blacksmithing in Hyrule Castle Town where she was often teased by boys her age for her round-shaped ears. Although she tried telling them to stop it, they wouldn't listen, as if they didn't hear her at all. Because of how she was completely ignored, Aure started to believe that the only way to get them to stop was by pounding them. And thus, her aggressive rage was born.
Aure didn't start to take an interest in swords until she was about seven years old when she saw a few knights having a sparring match. She asked her father to teach her how to wield a sword but he refused... so she made a deal with him: if she was trained to use a sword, then she wouldn't tell everyone that it was him who accidentally broke the statue of the Triforce during the Hyrule festival the year before.
As of now, she knows nothing of her prewritten destiny. But she does, for reasons unexplained, that her birthmark on the back of her right hand means something.
Trivia:
- Is NOT a morning person!
- Though she doesn't mind working for her dad, she longs to see the world outside of Castle Town.
- Theme song is "Escapist" by Nightwish (remember to click on Escapist!)
- At age nine, she bought a bouzouki and was given free lessons by the owner. She usually plays it when she's on break from work.
- She never leaves home without her weapons (just in case she's ambushed).
