Easy. I already mocked it up and sent it to fellow-fish freak - as a practical joke. I can't find the file. It would probably look lame now - this was about 10 years ago.
The Sea Creature Channel
Shows about:
Sharks
Squid
Octopi
Barracudas
Crab and other crustaceans
Leopard Seals
Jellyfish
Cichlids and pirhanas
Tuna

Whales
Coral
Dolphins
Sea turtles (Cute but kind of boring)
Fish not mentioned in the first list
Seals and sea lions (except leopard seals)
Mollusks
Seas slugs/cucumbers

You mean - like no shows about vapid teenagers and stupid practical jokes or top 100 countdowns that show jackass comedians making lame predictable jokes? And the music is all good and more or less stick to one or two genres - instead of only music aimed squarely at at 15 year olds?
Oh - but Beavis and Butthead can be the exception.

The "No Stars" Channel. It will be either:
1. A Science-fiction channel that will not show any movie or series that has the word "Star" in it's title,
- OR -
2. A Science-Fiction channel that features actors that are not (yet) "Stars" in any way, shape, or form.

TV-L will feature shows about computers (like Giga but without the stupid gaming) at daytime as well as shows about economy, documentations about conlanging and material in conlangs, good sci-fi movies in the evening and when all children are in bed... cartoon with Tuxen for the lonely programmers ![]()

Looked up coelacanths. They are definitely cool enough. As are any other weird dinosaur fish that may be discovered down the line. I've also added catfish (from around the world - not just crazy American catfish.) and Sturgeon. Also added sea otters.
I'm thinking of adding seabirds - but I don't want to dilute the intent. Penguins, puffins, albatrosses, pelicans, ospreys.
So - still working on the title. The original was The Fish Channel but then I added invertebrates and mammals then it just got bigger and bigger. And since not all these fish are sea creatures...maybe "Animals that Live In Or On the Water Channel".
Gee, um, yeah - I'll have to get back to you on the other stuff. Not enough hours on the schedule. And physics BLOWS my mind!
I love the pictures but the concepts are way over my head!
Although - I also watch History and Discovery channels - and all their spin offs. I LOVE the Science Channel and History International. I also love Modern Marvels and How It's Made. How It's made is good fun for an aspie with auditory processing disorder.
Dealiest Catch, Ice Road Truckers and Axmen are the closest thing to reality tv that I watch. OMG! Have you ever seen the behind-the-scenes Deadliest Catch??? We rented the video game but I'm too much of a spaz on my sons X-box. It looked cool, though.
(ANd I love to torture my family by singing Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive - but by saying "Deadliest catch..." in my best lounge singer schmaltz.

I'd tottaly watch that! Animal Planet sucks these says anyway. It's not so much animal planet anymore as "People Who Work with Animals Planet" and "Dog Planet". Don't forget manatees and stingrays. I think the marine life obsession I had in elementary school is coming back. I would tottaly watch the Sea Creature channel. There would be no need for other channels.
The Equine channel: Shows with programs about horse and pony breeds, a show about My Little Pony customisers, old My Little Pony cartoons and movies like Black Beauty and Hildago. Unlike that crap show "Jockeys" the programs would focus on horses, not their riders.
The Bug Network: Shows about insects
The Cat Channel- Shows about wild cats
The Kitty cat Channel- Shows about domestic cats
The dog channel- What animal planet has become but better

I can't believe I left out rays and manatees! Also - what about sea snakes.
I agree with you on the decline of Animal Planet. I've stopped leaving it on for my dog because of all the animal cop and vet shows. (I wonder if they know they're probably losing pet viewership, too.)
I like "Its Me or the Dog" but Victoria Stillwell is the only "people who work with animals" I like to watch. Well - "Pet Star", too - but Mario Lopez also hosts beauty pagents so I wouldn't say he counts.
That Jockey show is so lame! I know there are probably a lot of horse and racing lovers watching - but there's probably even more animal lovers who are totally offended by racing.
