I recall a thread from way back when. A member had discovered the cure to ASD at some party he went to. It was called Ecstacy. Having never tried E, I can neither confirm or deny, but I remain somewhat sceptical
Ecstasy, or MDMA (ecstasy is usually MDMA cut with meth or heroine or another powerful drug) is very dangerous to self medicate with it. MDMA drains the brain of its serotonin, which certainly feels great while it’s happening, but nothing you’re feeling is actually real. Those brain chemicals are supposed to release naturally, based on natural events, and artificially inducing this to feel momentary pleasure is incredibly foolish.
I’m certainly not opposed to altered mind states, but there are MUCH better alternatives if you want to develop yourself and understand your complexities.
And this doesn’t need to be based on anything psychoactive. Fish oil very good for the brain (omegas), as is Lion’s Mane mushroom. I find that my chess game is greatly enhanced when I supplement bacopa monnieri. I would suggest avoiding supplementing with L-tyrosine (dopamine precursor) and 5htp (serotonin precursor), while you have initially positive results, it is unwise to manipulate our brain chemicals so directly. Our bodies know how to process these things naturally, we just need to help it do so, provide it the proper materials so it can do what it knows to do.

Ah Nootropics. I was lookin in to 5-htp, and was gonna take it, but i decided to take its antagonist, (dopamine competes with seretonin) L-trosine. a dopamine amino acid precursor, because L-dopa has certain controversy around it's safety. I can say it seemed to have some effect on personality. But it could have just been a coincidence.
Based on my research this is a misunderstanding. While L-tyrosine increases dopamine, it will lower your natural serotonin, and while 5htp increases serotonin, on its own it will deplete your dopamine. So they must be taken together. And 5htp can be damaging to the heart valves, and from what I have read, you can counteract this by taking a green tea extract. But then you’re layering all these things over top of each other that will still develop unnatural problems at some point.
I hope this isn’t against rules here, but since we’re on this subject anyway, I would propose that psilocybin-containing mushrooms are very effective at aiding us in developing new neural pathways. Our brains are plastic and are capable of great change. I do not recommend anyone break the law, I am only providing information.
