I'm self-diagnosed, also. I have to say that, although the knowledge that I was Aspie was interesting and certainly explained a lot of bizarre things about my life, I can't really say that it's helped much. Much more important to me has simply been the maturation process, and thinking long and hard about life and people and the universe.

I've been lurking for a while, but I have to come out of the shadows for this thread. I'm 71 and found out I was AS last year. Like has been said, it didn't make a great difference in my life, but after spending decades wondering why I was different from normal, it has been a relief to know I'm not suffering from some sort of psychosis. It answered a lot of questions and I feel better about myself...knowing I'm not the only one like me.
