Independant living and prolonged social isolation

I've been living on my own for nearly 1yr and have discovered it's not quite what it's cracked up to be. I've found it incredibly easy to get socially isolated and just waste way too much time. I've gotten real depressed, anxious, etc. Now it's getting better because every day, I challenge myself to be productive for at least 10 minutes (cleaning apt, washing dishes, cooking, socializing, etc).
Anybody else experience this?

I would have to say yes to that one. Easy to lose track of time on your own(I would often forget to eat, and sometimes I got so indulged in what I was doing that I suddenly realized I had to run to the toilet to make it). I would stack up on food and cans only to be able to stay at home for longer periods, but I think my record was only 2 weeks in a row without seeing another person over the first 4 years of my independant living(and I wasn't totally isolated, since I did have MSN/IRC). As a student, the summer are the worst, if you don't work or don't move home for the summer, 'cause the safe schedule of school is gone.
