I did firmly tell him "No" when he came up and asked me if I was willing to sell my place. He responded with "Well let me know when you are." I was pretty mad at that point.

I contacted the president of the HOA about it and he wrote me a letter about "How rude I was to him" and that I broke confidence by bringing the issue to the president which he made me feel bad in the letter.

What are my next steps?

I believe he must have been confused by what you said at first and assumed you were going to move out.

What's a combo?

Hi: I just got off the phone with her about that a few minutes ago and took a picture of the letter which I texted to her. It turns out that he serves on the HOA board and cannot be acting like that with owners of the property and even if we get into a conflict.
He may not be with the HOA much longer (I hope)...

LOL Combo, I mean condo. Typo for sure. I had been dropping lots of hints that I eventually want to move into the city but I didn't say I was moving. Rather, I said I would eventually like to move out. I am just not ready right now but I will when I can.

Fnord, re-read the letter to the president and which said that "I am an adult and I expect to be treated like one." :  He pushed my buttons.

A condo is like a flat but instead of renting you own it

Ah. We call them flats here. Usually found in cities.

Fnord had some good advice which you are following Summer which is good. I would also just try to avoid the guy as much as possible but you'd probably do that anyways. I wish you luck.
