Currently I collect potato mashers (over 500 distinctly different ones).

And I am getting into boondoggle (new weaving patterns).

Before that:

Hippopotami
Angels

Younger

Chess
Mathematics
Dinosaurs
Bottle caps

It is dangerous to get me talking about any one of these, besides bottle caps. I don't remember much about that phase.

I used to play with lego every day, as often as possible. I would keep trying to find new ways to connect blocks.

After that i became engrossed with cars. I had every issue of "CAR" since 1989, and would religiously study the specs in the back (the GBU). I only threw my collection out last year because it was becoming an issue of space.

I also went through a phase of aircraft. I would make reams of paper planes, changing the design slightly between them. My room filled up with them. I was reading aerodynamics books in primary school, and my parents had no problem giving me a x-acto knife and balsa kits to keep me away from their paper. :p

Now i'm trying to study engineering, but i keep getting distracted by books/documentaries on biology and astrophysics.

I am an engineering student, but I tend to get obsessively stuck on:

Artifcial Neural Networks
Design/construction of model (flyable) jets
Trying to understand feminism and masculism and other controversial issues

These things take much of my time away from my main goal. :-/

Astrology... it is one that keeps coming and going, and I seem to find strange satisfaction in reading all I can about it, from the basic signs to the different aspects and angles.

Right now I'm a student, taking a few courses at uni, and I am stupidly obsessed with marks -- because I am really obsessed with understanding and knowing EVERYTHING!! !, at the level I am at, about the subjects I am studying, and marks somewhat reflect whether you know everything about the subject or not. Since one of the subjects is Calculus 2 and math is not a strong subject for me, that leads to a lot of frustration. It is hard to learn.

I'm pretty obsessed with gardening. I only have 40 square metres for my veggie garden though, so that means I plant intensively and fiddle with it a lot and have sequential crops and so on.

Other obsessions have been the output of a few specific musicians.

My current obssesion is vintage HiFi, been at it for nearly a year now, Nearly got the speakers I want (still really want to find a pair of AR 11's Maybe even AR9) think I have got the amp I want, and am presently driving the electronic tech nuts cos i want it back to its original specs.

As this obsession is coming to an end, I have a new and overlapping one   Building myself a dining table. The starting point being to find the right timber (must be recycled) drove the timber merchant to despair yesterday

I'm currently fascinated with the solution to the Poincare Conjecture.

I am trying to determine whether it can be used in society.

Got a bit of a Doctor Who thing going on right now. My husband knows it's serious because I bought a sonic screwdriver the other day. (It flashes and makes the noise and everything, but it also has an actual screwdriver and a couple of bits inside it, which is handy. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything to sarcastic brothers-in-law who think they know all about string theory and why time travel is impossible. )

I have a lot of health issues and so its mostly been health.

I think that my major obsession since I was 13 is studying romantic relationships. I am 24 now.

My major in school is neuropharmacology so I've been obssesed with neuroscience and drugs!

Harmless things I am obsessed with:

- Kitty cats (I limit myself to two for the momemt)
- Bach Cantatas (I can listen over and over and over)
- Velomobiles (healthy to ride, hard on the account balancd)

Unhealthy things I am obsessed with:

- Locating girls/women I had the hots for, and apologizing for insulting them by thinking that I could have be good enough for them.
- Looking at Women and post-pubescent teenage girls that are attractive (since I only get to touch (even just a hug) about once per decade.
- The person who I though was a real friend, until she moved and delibertely did not tell me she was moving, and has refused to even acknowledge receivpt of letters and emails.
- Telling people I like them, but I am not worthwhile enough to have as a real friend.
- Having one sexual experience with someone I like without it being a cash transaction.

Right now I'm back onto Ice Hockey because I'm getting healthier so I can play it. I played last week for the first time in 2.5 years and now all I want to do is play. I don't want to go to school or do homework or anything, I just want to play goalie. I've spent all day watching the NHL network and the movie Miracle.

Horseback riding is also up there, I have a strong burning desire to show them again, but I don't have a horse to ride.

I'm also into rockets and chemistry.

I'm going to go back to taekwondo this summer I think.

Oh, Xbox is an on and off obsession as well. But I really only like the CSI games and Forza racing.

Weather (weather radio)
Iamx (chris corner, that's understandable)
Adoption (I get really crazy about wanting to adopt and reading adoption websites)

My husband is crazy into security. Cameras, listening devices, alarms. He even became a volunteer cop besides his full time job. When he was a teenager he used to get in fights all the time and be a bad boy so how it relates I don't know but I guess it makes sense.
