They obviously do not live with someone with OCD. They won't let you have books and manuscripts all over your bed and write until you fall asleep on top to them. I will never understand that! Tyranny, I tell ya!
It depends on a person's obsessions or compulsions. I have comorbid OCD, and I frequently fall asleep with disorganized stacks of papers next to me.
Quite right even OCD'ers have their priorities. I'm positive I've had OCD since I was a teenager though it was seriously ten times worse when I was a teen and I wasn't tidy then nor am I now. OCD'ers can obsess on different things.
Actually its become a little game for me to see how long or if my psych kind find out I have OCD. Since OCD is so often comorbid with AS and ADD and so very common anyway I would think she would have quizzed me about it. So far the neuropsych and psych have not mentioned it other than one computerized question of "Do you feel like germs are covering everthing and you must kill them". Course I answered yes because I am a major germaphobe.
Do you use plastic? I remember when we were married, someone gave us tupperware as a gift. He threw it all away. He thinks plastic traps germs so he won't use anything plastic. He's doesn't want any carpet either.
When he wanted to get married, I said, Okay, but no children ever. You even bring it up and I'll divorce you. He said, Okay, but keep your office clean. (A remark directed at my habit of having books and manuscripts all over my bed. My room was always clean otherwise.
He has countless rules. It actually makes life easier for me because I can't stand to make domestic decisions. He wants to make all the domestic decisions. A Psych would have a good time with us.
So did the woman clean your house, Ticker?
