Erm, yes. Posted two awhile back, before the forum moved.
I'll see about getting a couple in the new pic thread....

Hi there! I've been lurking..lurking

Now I'm on a mission and so I'll butt in.

There is a newbie on Getting to Know You who wants to know how aspies in their 60's survived, and I kindly dobbed you in. Could any of you please visit him? His name is SG.

What happened to the idea floated of setting up a thread where the ..err..mature..older aspies answered such questions asked by the young?

I'd better show some manners now. I've enjoyed all your discussions. I'm worried about Lau, who seems to have disappeared. If he goes from the defunct cafe, I think it will die.

Best wishes to you all. Now I've posted once I might creep back in again. Have you still got the wc in the corner?

Lau made some comments about the turn the other cafe thread had taken and it sounded like he wanted a new one or new threads or something. It is sad because the rubble looks even more apocalyptic now :(

Lau's plan is on page 15 of the other cafe thread!

I don't think Lau wanted a forum. I think he doesn't like all the threads. Maybe he's just sick of people.

Lau has a thread where this cafe used to be. It was quite the philosophical place and never a dull moment. And he is probably just taking a break to work on his other more serious endeavours.

LOL< LOL > LOL<LOL>

they don't want to hear about the covered wagon days, Nannarob. I watch the 'snatchers' posting that feed at the new thread lists . . puting in there two cents no matter what the questions are.

Sorry, it just cracked me up that the young ones would want our wisdom.

Ok, listen up, sometimes the old ways are the best. This one is real and goes back to a Welsh community near the hard coal mines in the area, just prior to turn of the century and probably might go back to Wales and earlier.

How to fix "Weak Lungs". Suspend a bag around the young afflicted childs neck and keep it filled with cow manure.

We must remain sound in body here, as well. For you poor city folks, send me a box, pre addressed, pre stamped and I'll send some. Gonna raise hell with those poor bomb, drug, sniffing dogs and machines. Oh well, health is more important, then some machines nose. I suspect the dogs will do just fine, they might paw the box open and want to roll in it.

I too do not like people at my house, and so I simply don't extend invitations.

I do my best to keep people from visiting my home.

My comfort zone is at the fringe of where everyone else is.

I need lots of alone time, this apartment all to myself is bliss! But now I have two 'friends' who are inviting themselves over, and have even started dropping in without phoning first. This may be fine for NTs, but not me. My neighbor dropped in and stayed several hours, then later knocked on my door and wanted a ride to McD's. Neither of them have a car, and I'm too way too easily talked into rides and such, but this time I declined and she got offended...!

And now my 18yr-old son has worn out his mother and is thinking of moving in here... 8O

yes, Zanne, libraries are great: surrounded by books and quiet people!

Postpaleo: helping people with these problems is what the world needs more of. (Oh, and cow manure. I used to shovel those aromatic hydrocarbons out of the barn, & my lungs are fine!)

Maybe you need my semi-redneck brother-in-law's doormat:

"Do Not Mistake Tolerance For Hospitality."

:)

I have a doormat at the back of the house that says "How can I miss you if you never go away!?" and the one at the front door says, "Hi, I'm Matt."

Does anyone know what the philosophy (I'm sure it's Greek) that states, obviously paraphrasing, everything I knew is wrong.
