Aylissa I am sorry to hear about your arm and that people are
attacking you. I am a member of a community for sound senstivity
issues, a place of SUPPORT, which of course for the most part it
is. Of course I had one person attack me ( I think just because
they knew I wouldn't "play".) Anyway, this person was the only
one in the whole community who was that way. The site admin.
called her on it and she did apologize.

I know for me it is sometimes hard not to focus on the negative, and
I have to work real hard at just letting stuff like that roll off my back
and just see it for what it is...someone trying to get a rise cuz they are
bored or perhaps have a contrary nature. As long as its not family......

Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes. I promise I am not a
super negative person, just kind of shy and cautious. I do have a
sense of humor once I relax and settle in a little. I mean I have my
hang-ups and quirks and all, but I like to have fun I promise.

Anyway I went to this job fair today and I might have a couple of
job leads, and I got one of those water massages (the fair was at
the mall) It was sooooo relaxing, I wanted to stay longer than 10
minutes but that was all I could afford.

I kind of witnessed that whole spy vs. spy thing in the small company I
used to work for. Everyone was scared they were gonna lose their job,
and a lot of them did. Some people just quit cuz they were fed up with
how the way the company was run. My ideal is to work for a small but
solid little business somewhere, that needs a really organized behind
the scenes type of office clerk. I have to say that was one thing I DID
like about working where I did. They accepted me for exactly who I was
and appreciated my hard work and dedication. Hope I get lucky like that
again soon!

Peace
DaQwerk

I hope you get lucky in finding a job, DaQwerk.
I just received the schedule for the next 2 weeks for my new part-time job at the knitting and needlework store. It seemed like a grand idea at the time but now I am really nervous. :( I haven't worked outside my home in 9 years! I have a whole lot of what-ifs going on in my head. The weekend with my brothers' wives only reinforced just how different I am from "normal" women. So there is the whole what if they think I am weird or I make a mistake. I also just found out that the only other knitting store within 200 km of here is closing in a week. That is going to make for a much busier store than I had been ready for.
I think it is time to hide behind the cafe plant in the corner again. I may come out ...or..not!

DaQwerk, good luck with the job hunt. Glad you had a couple of leads. Here's hoping it is as accepting as the last job.

Blessed, try it out. If it doesn't work, you can always quit. You won't really know until you try. At least you'll be talking to your interest. It wasn't that way on your weekend away. They wanted to talk about everything. So give it a try. You never know.

Thank you, Zanne. I know I will give it a try. And it will probably be just fine. I am Queen of the type "A" personality. I will worry about anything or anyone for no reason other than I do!

Sitting in her chair writing about the Sociopath, her Aspie heroine and three doctors. The Sociopath just tried to kidnap our Aspie heroine again (he's so obsessed), but her doctor husband hit him with a gulf club and the heart surgeon held a syringe of Phenobarbital to his neck. She promptly asked him if he knew the effects of five grams of Phenobarbital on a heart and told him she needed a new heart donor and thought he would do nicely. He didn't like that idea and pulled a gun. He made his escape and killed her pilot, then stole her helicopter to get away. So she took the pilot's heart instead. As she says, no one wants a heart surgeon who actually has a heart.

That's all the news that is news. What is that from? Some old show I think.

Nice to see the Aspie Heroine is still up to her evil ways!

Blessesmom--You can be proud of yourself, and don't worry about not being like other women. There's a lot of us not like the "norm," and not just us Aspies. The world needs more examples of unique and valuable women.

And I wish you luck at the job, and just do your best. You must know your stuff, or they wouldn't have hired you. I hope it's a joy to go to your new job. Karuna.

DaQwerk--great name! And welcome! And good luck on your job hunt.

Cernunnos--dude, I'm glad things are going better for you. Isn't it funny about letting fly with one's well aimed "concern?" Things clear up one way or another, and I'm glad it worked out for you.

Zanne, I swear your latest chapter of your story reminded of one about a spy who was undercover as a doctor, and was followed into an office by someone out to assassinate him, so the doctor grabbed an objet d'art piece off of a desk, hid behind a door, and when his attacker came into the room, he used the piece to knock the guy out, and nearly killed him. When he turned on the light to check on his attacker, he found he had pounded the guy with a giant glass dildo. Ooh, mens rea!...

Metta, Rjaye

Sips her coffee and plays with the new hanging shell beads she put up around her chair. Where are all of our cafe crew? Have we all gone off to our respective caves in a huff? Is an asteroid coming? Has the polarization of the earth shifted? What is with all of our moods? Even my best friend is cranky and incommunicado.

I'm in one of those moods where I feel like throwing everything out. Anyone else?

I'm around - just cooling off after a particularly interesting morning (and I say that in the broadest sense).

I take it all back about losing it less often nowadays  I have just blown up majorly at the annoying student, in public, with loud shouting, but managed to avoid the swearing. It's the first time I've had a really significant "meltdown" at work in 7 years 8O .

But bizarrely I actually feel great. Perhaps I should do this more often :D Years of keeping back pent up annoyances obviously had to give, and they gave in the right place at the right time (well according to my criteria  )

Just waiting for them to go creeping to my boss now, but hey it did need it! They got both barrels with icing on top :D I have to be careful though, I don't want to lose it like that with the boss  I'll set him straight sometimes, like the other day, but I think the shouting might be a bit much

I am going to hang out here and drink French Vanilla Black tea all day. We woke up to snow this morning! SNOW! It was 28 C here a week ago and now we have snow. (Sorry, I'm not good at converting celsius to farenheit.) I wanted to prune shrubs and plant flowers today.
I was going to leave the cafe for awhile because everybody has gone into hiding, but someone needs to stay here and air the place out while all the others are hiding in their caves. Besides, someone needs to remind you all to eat, sleep and be merry!

Lost every f*****g bit off what I wrote, that f*****g sucks. In a god damned nut shell, keep the heavy s**t out of here and start a thread someplace else. The old cafe started this section and it did it with fun. Lot's of room for anything dire else where, or even semi dire. Serious is good still, but expect some witty answers, if you want 100% real advice this ain't the place. I don't have the energy or will to rewrite this agian nicely. Don't mean to single a living soul out that has posted here. Or in the old cafe. Lot's of room in this new area for serious help. That's how I see the lack of energy in here.

So in light of this here sage god damned wisdom, I'll end this with a thread killer. I'm in rant mode and probably will be for a while. My meds suck, don't work again, my doctor is a f*****g pill pusher that hasn't a clue in life. I'm in livid fear of not being able to write again. The war sucks, death sucks, life f*****g sucks and my dog has a fleas, and my cats like me too much. I'll get over it, or not. I won't get over being married to damn long, but such is my life as needing a keeper and I kinda like her now. But bet on the, I'll get over it or I'll figure out a way to come in through the bathroom window. I'm 56 and don't wallow in it like the kids. Pity is not healthy, period. Time to practice wtf we tell them. It's called telling people a spade is a spade.

(I do expect serious fun remarks to help me out. Killing the doctor with a socipathic terminator and evul tacks in his chair, the eating of entire dozens of muffins for my mental well being is exceptable to me. Any sage advice I will completely and utterly ignore, with my fingers in my ears and going nananananana.)

It is so good to hear a rant from you. The place almost feels normal again!! :)

I think you are right about posting separate threads for serious issues. It is hard to have fun in the cafes when such serious things have been mentioned. I fully expect you to come along and make fun of me when I am being too serious in here. If it was that serious I would keep it to myself or start a new thread. Kick me in the butt if I get pouty!!

I have an aunt and uncle who lived together for 15 years. They decided to get married after the 15 years to appease Grandma. They started fighting and having trouble so they got a divorce. They still live together and never separated but that little piece of paper made them feel trapped or something. :? They have now been together for 30 years. You could always try that but I don't think swampblossom would go for that idea.

Shoot, Zannemarie I am the queen of organization. I tend to
throw out more than I take in, which I guess is a good thing.
Oh, and I liked your story too, drama is wonderful in print,
or TV..but not so much in real life…I think the news thing was
Chet Huntley or David Brinkley?

Thanks Rjaye. I figured since I do not fit in to mainstream
life very well, and have been told I was quirky, that is why I
chose the name. From your lips to the powers that be that I
find a sweet job. I find it most frustrating not to be working,
My identity is connected to my job, since I totally suck at being
a parent, a daughter, or a spouse/SO. I have been told I am a good
friend though.

Speaking of jobs, Blessedmom, I totally understand the whole
hide behind the plant, nervous thing. If I could figure out how
to work from home, that would be awesome. I’ll have to take
some classes, especially in accounting, since I have very little
skills in those areas. I used to like to embroider and crochet a
little but my hands are all messed up these days. In a carpal
tunnel, tendonitis, arthritic kind of way.

Cernunnos, I admire your courage to let your emotions out.
That has always been one of my hardest things to do for me. I
hope things are better for you at work now. I have had a few
melt downs around my family though, over the years. They have
been few and far between, but they were always major. I held it
all in for far too long.

Does anyone here have sound sensitivity issues? I was wondering
because I DO, and know this is considered a “common” trait among
Aspies and Auties. If so and you have any successes with coping,
like therapies, devicies, or whatever, I would be interested in learning
about them.

Oh and the weather here in the mid south is hot, humid and I have these
Stupid, dreadfully annoying things called chiggers making me itch like
crazy!

Paleopost you are a pity party pooper, and a grumpy old man.

Yes, Postpaleo is a grumpy old man but he is our own grumpy old man and he is needed here!

28 celsius is 80 something farenheit. My math ain't so good!! I know it isn't as hot as the southern US but this is southern Canada we are talking about.

Daqwerk, I have ADHD and could really use an organizer if you're ever in the area!! I packed up boxes and boxes and boxes of used books my kids and I have collected, they sat by the door for a week and now they are back downstairs in their various homes. I just couldn't do it!!

Why, how on earth did you know that I had my Haitian voodoo doll out and was jabbing him as a surrogate for your doctor as I read that. Hmmmm I could always make him a character and kill him off after horrible things happen to him. Would you like that? I generally do that with people who annoy me. I contain them in my fiction and torment and kill them. It amuses me and I don't have to go to jail over it. I'm just certain my cellmate, Bertha, will not be nearly as good as dh at taking care of me and she'd be "quite different" as well! Can't have that. So, characters they will be!

I don't know if I've been dismal. If I have, I've forgotten by now. If I had snow in May though, I'd be livid and force dh to move again (which he absolutely detests!).
