Werbert!! ! You just did! In which you mentioned something along the lines of 'you thought you were already at your age losing your memory.' You'd probably better get that checked into :)

Hello Lupine, Hello Rosie! Welcome back - I'd get up and get you something to eat or drink, but I have an awful hangover, so I'm just going to lie here for awhile. Please, help yourself.
Hope you've had a good week.

A mistake easily made werbert. I don't remember posting here either.

PS. I've been doing a copious amount of laughing and blushing today.

PPS. I was at Bath for the occasion when The Byrds played acoustic (for the first time ever) to several thousand people between 2am and 5am in the rain. I might be a pixel on the picture here.

Chuck?
What is that in your avatar? I see the hand coming up to receive, but what is the rest of the picture? It looks like a sleeve on a very small arm with an aggragate of bubbles.??

Cognitive identification escapes me.

Ah!, but I use a proper browser. SeaMonkey (or Firefox) spell checks as I type in this box.
And, you've reminded me to try using Klipper, which gives me a clipboard history and a bunch of other goodies.
PS. Where's that Quirk Factor quiz?

My avatar is a detail of a pen and ink drawing I did last year for a coworker.
It's from a dream I had in which Jamey and her daughter Eva were flying thru a cloudy star- filled night. Jamey told me that she always wanted to "eat Eva up like a cookie" because she was so cute, and in my dream she was a chewed up cookie (didn't show that part here:) ). Eva had had a tough first year and so had no hair (head butts in her sleep) but in my dream she did, so I drew her that way so her mom could see her with hair. Now, at 2 years old, she looks like my picture. :) Its because of Jamey and Eva that I found out I have Asperger's. Jamey told me that Eva's doctor thought she may have it. I had never heard of it, so went home, looked it up, and read about my life. Surprise!! ! I chose this avatar because it depicts me embracing my new community, er.. that is... in an Aspie half-hearted... kind of...sort of...almost hold your hand kind of way. :) So when you see it, think "old man". (I posted a pic for you guys in the members only section), I think page 148, or 149.

Lau,

As for Paramahansa Yogananda, I knew his son. Son of a Mormon lady that followed him to Los Angeles when he opened his temple. Big beautiful broad browed fellow they call Ben, lived out in the rugged Siskiyous Mountians of Southern Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest States with his Mormon wife, Lorna. Married in the Temple in Salt Lake City, they were, married for all eternity. Lorna was desparate to get into heaven and the only way a Mormon woman can is through her husband, so she was clinging to him even if he WAS half an Indian Yogi.

Its part of a synchronisity, haven't you felt the pull when you know to be somewhere at some time and then you are blown away because you realize that little art and music show is actually Woodstock*. Has it happened to you? cause that is exactly how it happened to ME!

HAH!! I read "Autobiography of a Yogi" when I was in, oh, 4th grade?! how old is that, 8? That was when I was in my "read everything that came my way" mode as a child. The "hyperlexic" thing, I guess. Comprehended every word, but understood nothing. What a treat to learn that the rather effeminate-looking fellow whose photo graces the cover of that book had an active sex life... thanks, Merle, you made my day!!

Chuck: you are going to have such fun with your little kid. She is so fortunate to have parents who understand her from the start!

Oops! must have given a wrong impression Lupine! I'm not married, Jamey is, and Eva's her daughter. When I transferred to my current pharmacy 3 years ago, Jamey was the only co-worker who would talk to me. We were friends right off the bat, "like peas and carrots" :) (she's autistic), and still are. I'm friendly with my other co-workers now, too, but Jamey's the only one that gets my humor and when we get together and laugh and kid around everyone else kind of stands there and looks at us like this: 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

Lupine, I've just noticed.... you joined WP 8 days before me, so you then held off posting for a whole month longer than I did. I wonder if that means you hold 1st place for "longest lurk".

Chuck, you really should treat you workplace more seriously. Those poor co-workers (one excepted) that the pair of you are torturing.

I suggest you treat it more like smoking. When I was smoking, I had to leave the building and go into a specially designated "bus shelter" thing, to blaze through a couple of cigarettes.

So, what you and Jamey have to do is move away, out of sight and earshot. Die (figuratively speaking) of laughter, repeatedly. Dry your eyes, then return to work.

You may then be able to restrain yourselves, with occasional, socially tolerated "titters" when one of the NTs comes up with an exceptionly witty remark about their car, house, insurance policy, favourite soap (either meaning) or clothing.

Chuck: Oops.. missed the "coworker" part of your post. In any event, Jamey is fortunate to have such a friend as you, and over time I'll bet you'll be a positive influence in Eva's life as well!!

Pharmacy. Cool. My current job is sort of pharmacy-related... sometimes I have to identify pills.

When I was officially diagnosed with Asperger's in January, I told Jamey:
"Well, if Eva doeshave Asperger's...maybe that's not so bad! I just found out that I have it, and I haven't turned out so bad."

Jamey looked at me and started laughing. She said, "Its a good thing I don't know how to cry either, and I hope I don't learn anytime soon, because if she's going to turn out like you, I'm gonna cause a flood!" :)

Heh. Yeah, I pride myself on my lurkiness. Cautious by nature (and as a result of painful experience). Kudos to YowlingCat for bringing me out of my shell.

Hahahahaha! About spewed my coke!
Yeah! What's up with that anyway?

Aside, would someone kindly explain to me how to do the "quote" procedure? Don't mind using eidetic memory, but I type SOOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOOOOOW it would assist me greatly! Thanks!

I'm afraid I cannot comment on Paramahansa Yogananda - I do not know who he is. All of you know him so he must be famous.

I'll have to look him up.

Lupine - do you work for the Poison Control Center? Or in law enforcement?
(Identifying pills?)

Chuck: click the "quote" button in the upper right-hand corner of this post. That will take you to the "reply" window, and you'll be able to choose the quoted text you want transferred over to your reply.
