Jimmy Cliff was the most awesome performer I have ever seen, I swear he was better than Mic Jagger in his prime and that is saying something!

jimmy cliff came out in a pair of yellow trousers that just smacked you in your face. He was non stop bouncing from one side of the stage to the other, just feeding off the energy and channeling the lord god almighty, in a manner of speaking. I was honored to be there.

Jagger was in New York doing the club scene. A friends son was in the same club and saw him. He walked over and his body guards of course got up between them and Dan said Mr Jagger may I please have your autograph. He waved off the guards and said, Sure, one does not hear the word please, very often.

My very first would have been school's foundation day concert, but I don't think that's what you mean - lol.

Melanie (Safka). Like her music a lot but couldn't relate to all the hippies in the audience - lol

and Merle - never saw Jimmy Cliff in the flesh, but liked his movie "The Harder They Come" (or something like that).

Iam fortunate enough to have had my first live concert recorded and released as an Album.
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band at Hammersmith Odean in 1975.

I was 16 and bought to tickets and actually asked a girl to come, of course she allready had a boyfriend, (seems to me if you dont get one by about age 12, youve left it too late).

So I took my mate along, we probably smelt a bit as we had nicked a whole tray of bananas from outside the supermarket that had been delivered before the staff got there, so there was very many bananas, so we eat nothing but bananas for quite a few days.

Shame though how bands are often remembered just for thier occassional commercial "pop-song".

Theres not a lot of video around but Vambo might give you an idea of what they where about.

Pearl Jam, when I was 18. Super Crowded! I practiced moshing. The noise and crowd got to me a bit, but the folks I went with (my brother's friends) looked after me. Had a great time!

Also went to Big Day Out in 1998. Seen some live bands at pubs, I prefer those today.
