Critical thinking is not debate. Critical thinking is self-reflexive; awareness of the process of thinking and challenging not only others' views, but one's own.

For sure; it is part of debate. Critical thinking is part of all thinking.

I don't think you are a millennial; you are of an even younger generation which is yet to be named.
But to answer your question, I think they lack humility in the face of the learning of civilization. They think that technology can replace the thinking of the human mind. That time may come, but we're not there yet.

Not so sure about that. Throughout history we have always relied on technology to dictate our thinking e.g. television, books etc. Its kind of normal not necessarily something we should scorn. If anything it is good since people look towards facts rather than perceptions to dictate their thinking.
Sorry if this is off topic.

I am not upset by change at all; rather, I embrace it wholeheartedly. Technological and biological advancements have saved my life.
The millennials were the first generation to come of age not knowing a time without the internet. I fear that they will be tempted to rely too much on it and become lazy about their own thinking.

But we got to put faith into the internet. For me it has been a tool I am able to discuss and debate these issues in a way I wouldn't be able to before. And things like Reddit, forums and YouTube comments have become places to discuss issues for millions of people. Would I chose that over a system whereby our opinions come from the television we watch and the channels we choose yes I would. The internet is like an improvement for once we can discuss these issues rather than simply having our opinions solely from which media we watch.

The internet is interactive media and it is an improvement in that it facilitates ease of communication and access to information. Because so many sources are available, it is important to be able to evaluate them. The opportunities are greater, but there are also more pitfalls.

Millennials are more exposed to media than previous generations. Your generation even more so. Technology has been around since they started honing flint to hunt, but it has never changed so quickly in so many ways before.

If anything what we millennials have now may be an improvement.
