I really liked that NT mask poem. I had the best mask around -- Normals wouldn't see through it for weeks. Eventually, they would give me a strange look and not talk to me anymore ...

Forgot about you blokes. Over in the colonies our retirement is held in the stock market until we are 59 1/2 years old -- and a month -- and a day. I'm a year less.

Thanks sinsboldy... you sent me off in a fury of research, which I can never get enough of.

You reminded me of "Educating Rita", which got me to http://www.script-o-rama.com/movie_scripts/e/educating-rita-script-transcript-caine.html, which I then started reading from the top. Even without pictures and with no exact idea who's speaking each line, it's a hoot.

All I wanted was to be able to comment on your adaptation of the Haiku form and draw a parallel with "assonance". That brilliant line where Rita says "Ooh, yeah, means getting the rhyme wrong.".

Sometime I amaze me with how smug I am. Before I did my offering, although I had it in the back of my mind that it was 17 syllables (which turned out to be correct), I wasn't at all aware of the fact that it had to be three lines - and that it had to follow the 5/7/5 pattern. What a pedant I am!

Anyway... taking off my Micheal Caine hat... I like yours. I was amazed, on looking back, to see that I quite like mine still! Mine's a bit purist (grin) whereas your imagery is much better. (Having said that, I'm now getting this strong image of two chimpanzees, grooming each other).
