the first real "concert" I saw was Snoop Dogg. He was pretty good, but it was short(I was 18 I think). Also I hate his music now...

I remember going to my first concert in August 1998 at a fairground in Washington. It was N Sync. It was a free concert but the lower seats cost money. We were up in the stands and I can remember seeing them sing and one of them was only 17. The next day I saw the Spice Girls at the Rose Garden. I remember the concert started an hour late and I got upset when this little girl kept standing in front of me and she wouldn't sit down so Dad traded seats with me. I can remember when they were singing 2 Become 1, when Baby Spice was singing her part she sang the word "one" for a very long time and held the note and it was very annoying.

Crowded House.I was also looking forward to
seeing the support band The Cranberries,
but their lead singer had broken her leg in a
skiing accident and the last-minute replacement support was a punk rock band.I couldn't wait for them to get finished and let me hear some real music.

Aerosmith in 88/89...I remember the year only because i had recently moved to this state....Don't remember the show that much...probably because i was trying to so hard to fit in.
A local girl had asked me to go with her,and she was a real hottie.Full of life....I didn't really know how to handle the situation to be totally honest....I also got the feeling it was because i was "new" is why she asked me to go along.

Iv'e been to other shows since then...but the only time i ever felt like part of the group was at a Clutch show(All sorts of people. From suit and tie types to goths...all swaying exactly the same way as me..kinda hard to describe.)

I remember my parents taking me to see 'Paul McCartney and Wings' probably something like 1975 - I remember the weather as much as anything and the James Bond theme.

My mother also took me to see Suzi Quattro at around the same time - also probably 74/75 I guess and Roxy Music is (probably) 1976.

As a friend of mine was a music junkie, I saw many bands in the late 70's and early 80's. Notables include a pre-fame Duran Duran in a smoky bar in Birmingham, Talking Heads on a rare UK visit, Ian Dury, Boomtown Rats - multiple times for both, Japan, Echo and the Bunnymen, Bauhaus - who we saw play over 20 times and so many more it is hard to remember.

One 'gig' that really, really sticks in my head though was Kate Bush at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1979.

I've yet to go to one. :P

I don't think I would ever actively choose to go to a live concert, though. They're excessively noisy. I'd much rather purchase a CD or DVD.

Third Eye Blind 1998, and a slew of artists before that. I can't remember who else. It happened just about the time that "Jumper" was hitting #1 on many charts.
