Lau, Sorry about your recent fall. Get well soon. I have sent TimeGoddess out to search for our lost muffin giver, Mad'Doug, from the roundtable days. The Goddess could only be brief with her report, she says she spotted him in the past laying passed out with muffin gluttony in New Zealand. She spotted him in the future, trouble is he was with LineNoise and HandySolo and we have no idea where they will lead themselves. Most likely headed to SilverRavens abode. I would give you her link, but Alex would be down on me like a 2 ton heavy thing, serious X-rating on her place. (I'll send private if you like). Anyway we can't hold out on the Goddess either she's very entranced with her little friend the 6 inch pianist and his tap dancing on her keyboard (and yes we made sure the spelling was right in Pianist, weren't too sure if she ment it in the phallic sense, oh she did, she just wouldn't admit it.) or She's watching him ride her pet cat, with his little spear in hand, in the back yard. The rest of the gang are getting hungry too and have sent out for more Krispy Kremes, somehow they never get back to the table. We think it's Stephan Van Ham, RichG and Electronic_Fart intercepting them. If you're foolish enough to wonder back, do not go in the cellar, Shelob, our pet spider was never house broken. So as you see it will be pot luck. Just another night at the roundtable. Eat a muffin, they like it and you will too.

Miss those guys and many more I didn't use their sigs. As I look back, it was almost a WrongPlanet UseNet site before we knew about apsie and the current blog fad. Had some serious fun. I wouldn't bother trying look at it. You really have to use a seperate reader for it and it was so full of inside jokes, we had moved from another site as well. We knew what it all ment but heaven help those that wondered in. We used to eat trolls for breakfast and put a, "trolls welcome" sign on the door for more, back then the good ones ran in packs. SilverRaven was in on the gang that started that stuff. She said she was reformed, but we had our doubts about that. I won't give out my sig from those days, lol. I might not be normal, but I'm not a fool, well on most days.

What a great crowd, tonight! Poetry, music, haiku, and cake with our names on it! Couldn't be better.

Perhaps you've worked up a thirst; there's a nice kettle of mulled wine over at the bar. While you're there, check out the newest issues of Aspie World, Computing with Autistics, and Assburger: The Hot Trend on Food TV.

Oh, and remember - whoever needs some financial assistance, just help yourself to some of the tip jar. I'm leaving it with $100; just make a note as to how much you've borrowed and when you expect to return it. (We do appreciate whatever interest you feel is appropriate, but it's not necessary.) Thanks! :D

Thanks for the concern postpaleo, and the backslash is healing up nicely. Still a bit of pain in my Ls, but the doctor says that'll pass.

I liked the story. I have s slightly strained diaphragm now. It reminded me a little of my BB days. I used to run one (hardware and software). Single dial in line. Eventually I was had to put in a second phone line - to use as a phone.

I've dabbled with fora in the past and other such, but they've usually been too frivolous (present company excepted!) or plagued by idiots. I think a reason WP works so well, in this respect, is that... how on earth is anyone going to disrupt us?

Oh, and YowlingCat... I missed out on the mulled wine. Can someone be delegated to do refreshment supply for the appropriate time zones? (Not me... too much organisation, but anyone who'd like some is welcome to the bottle of white wine I've had in the fridge since Christmas.)

Also...

Whoever cut the puzzle out of "Computing with Autistics", own up, I say! We know who you are! Put it back immediately!

Hey, I'm a great baker. Love to bake, don't love the calories. So...what's say I provide lots 'o homemade choclolate-chip cookies, and
moist, tasty banana-cranberry-orange bread? I just put some out on the counter, next to the tip jar. Along with baby carrots, light ranch, and grapes for those who cannot live on sugar alone. :D

I take requests, too, so let me know whatcha like.

Just put two bucks in the tip jar, too. Each contributing according to his/her own abilities and taking according to his/her own needs...

ACK!! Dog Dancer, way to healthy. Maybe we could set up a game in the corner? We'll call it, Bop The Gopher, win a can of Spam.

Back when I was into love lusts, I was positive it was all that was needed to sustain life for indefinite periods of time. I'm older and wiser now. I now understand that you need, sugar, caffine and nicotine added to the lust.

We could all be saved from this, it could happen. No, it really could. Someone might sign on here with the word muffin in their sig.

Death to the carrot, long live the muffin, for they taste good and like to be ate.

Hahhahaa!

Gopher Bop! Is that that game they have at Chuckie-Cheese (or Chuck-up Cheese as my friend and father of two kiddies likes to say)?

I LOVE that game. I think that just might be the only legitimate sport. WE MUST have one of those at the Cafe.

However, maybe we could have an alternative "prize" other than SPAM tins. lol:

Oh, and PostP -- you forgot to mention that other basic food group: fats.

Heehee!

Yes tis true. I didn't put in the fat food group as a basic, a pure form. One of my all time favorites is deep fried Pork Rinds. Recipe is as follows: Buy any ol bag of pork rinds your heart disires, preheat frying pan to the nth degree, add lard, wait till melted, add pork rinds till pan is full, cover and simmer. What you have left is just a delight to the senses. Please do not smoke when you stir and fire extinguishers are highly recommended. This recipe is only for members of the Pork Rind Institute of Fine Cusine Every Where, local 22 out of Bum-Butt-Egypt. These guys are trained professionals. The only and I repeat only exception to this rule is if you have a nurses slip from the school nurse. Guys, just because you can put on a nurses slip on, doesn't mean ya can cook, ya might look cute, but I won't eat it.

Spam on the other hand, contains mighty amounts of this product, plus some really essential preservitives. Not as many as the twinkies that have been on the shelf for 42 years and still are safe to eat. (As you get older preservitives are very important to my way of thinking. I try to eat a twinkie a day.) But if fried in lard, Spam, does come closer to pork rind delight. The other problem with Spam, is one can never really be sure the label is telling the truth. The grizzily storys about life near a Spam factory are not pleasent, would make you shudder and you just don't want to know. At one time it was seriously being considered as a close encounter of the third kind visitor rest area. Problem was the visiters never left. We have no idea where they went.

Spam, Spam, Spam Spam
Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam
Lovely Spam, Lovely Spam. . .
Monte Python Song

I lived, in my chequered career, in Sioux City, Iowa where the Armor Star Packing plant belched out smoke whose stench must have floated across the valley of Bergen-Belsen.

I can only say, that near the packing plant was located the Borden's Glue and the Iams pet food factory was made across the (Missouri) River.

but it you REALLY want to scrape the bottom of the fat barrel, try the "Potted Meat"
