Back in the days of yore, when I was in high school, there was no such thing as Asperger's. Autism was that rare condition Rainman had. I was a nerd back then (still am, and proud of it!) and I was fortunate enough to have a gang of similar-minded goofballs to call friends. With some of these people I have completely lost touch, and with others I have a Christmas-card type of relationship.
I wish I knew if they have learned about Asperger's, as I'm fairly certain at least a few of them have it. There are several reasons I wouldn't dream of asking them. For one thing, they might be offended at the suggestion. Still, I wonder. It would be nice to talk about Asperger's with an old friend instead of just in a forum.
I'm not really looking for advice here. I just thought I'd share a thought, and see if anyone else has similar thoughts.

I didn't, but now I'm thinking about it after reading your post. I'm going through my head thinking about those people Aspie, Narcissist, Bi-Polar, ADHD, Sociopath, Martyr Syndrome, Oedipal Complex, ...I'm not thinking of anyone as NT....weird.

There are a couple, (and I literally mean a couple!), of people in my past that I've wondered the same. Although, they are the ones that I've 'clicked' with (a very rare occurence!), or there's a similarity between our behaviours and attributes that, (after much reflection and my own diagnosis), I've wondered whether they might be an Aspie.

Whether they are? Or they know or don't? I couldn't say; but they are the people I wished I'd been able to 'hold onto' in my life, regretted that I hadn't been able to and also wished I could let them know now of my own diagnosis..........it might explain a lot!
