I don't want to have kids and have never wanted to have them, which is obviously the exception.
If you don't want to get into a relationship, but you're willing to have kids, there are a few things you should probably do - like ensure you save up enough or have good social support to be able to cope when you are ready to have a kid. You can always just go to a sperm bank - no need to engage with a partner. Many women in South Africa are single mothers (sometimes by choice, sometimes not) and it's really no big deal.
Do whatever makes you feel comfortable - although just make sure you have other people around to help because babies are overwhelming. I'm speaking from my experience as a doctor, not from my experience with kids and stuff.
Actually I have the reverse problem - I want a long-term committed relationship with no kids
