I work full time and I have difficulty motivating myself to do things after work due to tiredness. I'm more of a morning person. I get home at about 5:30 PM and go to bed roughly six hours later. I want to make productive use of these six hours.

Six hours every day is a quarter of my life and that's a terrible thing to waste. That time could be spent bettering myself. How can I have more energy in the evening?

How much sleep do you get?

I have the same problem, so I'm looking forward to other people's answers.

Usually about 6 hours per night but sometimes a few hours more or less. In winter it's easier for me to get 8 hours sleep. Sometimes it's due to not being able to go to sleep early enough (if I go to bed too early I'll lay awake for hours) and sometimes like this morning it's due to waking up too early. I went to bed nice and early at 11PM. Slept liked a log until I woke up at 3AM.

Usually when I wake up in the middle of the night I can easily go to sleep 5 minutes later. Sometimes I can't.

You may want to see if there are some tasks you can do away with--most of my bills are now on autopay.

I find that I am affected differently by physical and mental activity. I may be mentally drained after work, but may still be able to do physical activities that require little decision making.

If you are a morning person, perhaps a different approach will work.
Instead of getting more energy in the evening, can you try going to bed earlier and getting up earlier, so you can do productive things before work instead of after.

Mine too :)

Me too. My work is more mental. I do housework after work and go for a walk in the cool of the evening. There's something reassuring about the routine simplicity of housework.

But I need to increase my mental energy in the evenings so I can resume my studies. I could sign up for the 6 to 9 class but that would be a 12 hour day.

I should at least do some online classes.

Cocaine, I guess.

In all seriousness, get a regular sleep cycle.
