Okay I am self diagnosed, been in denial for years and I don't know if I am or what the difference is between the two. Aspi or HFA?

Discuss?

One of the main differences between HFA and Aspergers is IQ levels. Aspies usually have a average to above average IQ, while Auties usually have a average to below average IQ. Also another big difference is language delay, most Aspies usually have no language delay at all. I think those are the two big differences. Things change all the time though, so sometimes you can be diagnosed with Aspergers and have a language delay, but its still very unusual.

The psychologist first described me as having HFA, but then settled on Asperger's. Mind you, I wasn't exactly at my intellectual peak as I was wading through the midst of a hefty combination of social phobia and depression.

...this is a totally inane reply, isn't it?

Chinapig - haha :) *smiles andd chuckles * I guess I fall under Asperger then. Some Aspie traits I don't even share or relate to, but the vast majority are mine. You had a good post.
