Isn't that the truth?! !

I turned 15 in 78 and life was easier. I wouldn't say better but it was easier because I just didn't have as many responsibilities or screw ups. Life started to really suck after I got out of high school and had to be more responsible. Of course, if I would have known I was an Aspie I believe that would have helped a lot but oh well.

1978 was a big roller coaster year. I got my master's degree in May and my mother died of cancer in October.

There were a few bright spots. My favorite song was "Feels Like the First Time." A couple of months ago, I got to see Foreigner perform it live at a concert!

Van Halen came out with their first album that year. So for me as a guitar player, that's the year it all began.

Seconded.

1978? The year I started primary school, just after we moved house. Musically, my favourite albums from that year would have to be the debut albums by Magazine, Devo, The Cars and Dire Straits. New Zealand still had full employment (though accompanied by high inflation by then).

1978...that was an eventful year.

I was 14...I started high school...Mayor Moscone was assassinated in San Francisco (traumatic for me, because my Dad spent a lot of time at City Hall and worked directly with Moscone)...Jonestown Guyana - mass suicides...I had my first boyfriend...

Quite a year.

I remember, living on Divisidero with my second husband and I was 27. I was on a electric bus on my way to work and we were stopped near the City Hall, as they were taking the bodies of the mayor and Harvey Milk, Dianne Feinstein was just a rep on the City Council and was pushed up in the directorship because of it. Who knew that she would go on to be senator? and Jonestown hit hard, as a lot of folks lived right down the street from us at the People's Temple in '78. . .there was press down there all the time. . .
