Female friends who lack freedom

The story continues. My friend started the phone ringing signal thing with me and calling me up several times a day. She always liked me calling then calling back as a signal for her that it was me calling. How was I to know that her worthless excuse of a human being boyfriend what at home because he had been gone all week. Well he called me up and threatened me and told me to never call their house again. He told me I could only talk to her on her cellphone. Well she has a prepaid cellphone and never can afford to put minutes on it. So she calls me on my cellphone, not bothered by the fact she is using up my cell minutes, and tells me to call their home number. I refuse to call their home again because I am fearful for my own life. He is dangerous especially when he is drinking. It appears he is now an alcoholic. I know its just a matter of time till he kills her. But she is stupid and won't leave him because she run up over $20,000 in credit card bills and won't foot the bill for her own place to live.

I sometimes think I should cease speaking to her and never answer her calls. But I'm the only friend in the world she has and I have known her 20 years.

Hire somebody to go beat the s**t out of her husband for starters and then physically pull her away from that house and damn the bills.

does this qualify...

my current girlfriend still lives with her ex, (i'm with my parents for the next few months so she can't really stay here al the time) although she's trying to sell the house it's hard with the market as it is...he doesn't know about me, mainly because he's feeling mean, his dad is a lawyer and would make a real fuss about who got what part of the house if he found out...nasty legal stuff...

so anyway, she wants to stay friends with him but he's being reallllly needy and abusive...after staying at mine over a weekend he's all like "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WHY HAVEN'T YOU CALLED?" almost as if they're still a couple...and sometime he tries to sneak into her bed, and keeps doing creepy stalkerish things...

it's all fun and games ...and i feel very sad for her that she can't have her freedom in her own home...

Gary, it's even worse than you think. They're not married. He is on the spectrum I'd bet a million dollars on it if I had it. She is no doubt on the spectrum too. So you can't talk sense into either one of them. But he is made fun of so much at work that he is growing into a bitter man. He has always had a propensity to abuse chemicals and to be violent even as a teen. Its just gone to extreme. I feel like calling the police, but my friend would kill me because she works for the sheriff's dept. She's as stubborn as he is, but in different ways. His whole family is crazy and on the spectrum. I dated his sister and she is crazy. So its not like I can call any of them up and say they need to put the freakazoid in counseling before he starts a killing spree. He's such a big bubba I don't know anyone big enough to beat him up.
