The Autism community have been pretty marginalized over the puzzle piece symbol for nearly 2 decades. The rainbow logo seems to better represent Autism as a whole, but it's also associated with the lgbtq community as well which makes some of us a bigger target for bullying if we're heterosexual.
If you guys seen my thread on the news section, there was a 10 year old boy who almost took his own life because some jerk called him a gay slur and said he should kys. Most neurotypicals are still ignorant about autism, so the rainbow logo to them is only assoicated with the gay community.
I'm not saying don't reply Autism at all, but I feel better marketing is needed to ensure better accommodations for ASD individuals.
The problem is bigots are not that smart, ignorant NT teen bigots even dumber, they`ll see the Rainbow flag and wont know the difference between autism and LGBT association.
Expect a lot of bullying and a lot more stress and suicide because of it than would otherwise have happened.
Whats wrong with a puzzle piece anyway does the world really care? have autistic people not got bigger problems like losing access to welfare? if you live in the UK. What about autistic people being locked up for decades in a mental hospital?, again if you live in UK.
Then Trump if you live in US
Hundreds of thousands of autistic people facing poverty, and possible homelessness and being locked up, stressed out bullied, driven to suicide and people worried about a stupid picture of a puzzle
