Thanks for posting a link to this article, Wedge. I was wondering when someone would 'bring in' a medicle professional for their opinion. Personally I think that this article provides information that could help form an educated opinion.

generally, someone who contradicts themselves shouldn't be taken to seriously. Also, This proves that she's grasping at straws along with this:

Let's assume for a second that vacines actually do cause autism. Obviously not all vaccines cause it, and the ones that do don't cause it 100% of the time. So with that out of the way, what is worse: some cases of autism, or an epidemic of easily preventable diseases? I would take one "disease" over 5-10 epidemics any day of the week. Autism doesn't kill people because it isn't a disease. So why do people even WORRY about the whole vaccine thing? It all comes down to the whole "We don't know how autism starts, so lets blame it on something, quick!" What would these idiots rather have: non lethal autism or having the sequel to the Black Plague?

Equating sensible or personalized vaccination schedules to a return of the Black Plague (which has no vaccine) is hyperbole to the worst extent. The truth is that vaccines have NEVER been proven safe in the quantities that we now subject our children to. It is sensible and sane parenting to advocate for greater accountability towards vaccine safety and for vaccine schedules that aren't going to unnecessarily overload a sensitive child's metabolism. Just as you don't give the chickenpox vaccination to a child with an egg allergy, you don't want to give a huge vaccine load to a child with a weak mitochondrial system. Try to think for yourself rather than buying into the "Oh no! An epidemic in the making!" guilt trips the pro-vaccine faction like to bring out. The fact is, quite a few of our vaccines are for generally non-lethal diseases (mumps, measles and chicken pox spring to mind) and many others are given to tiny little babies long before they are remotely necessary. (Really, how many newborns are actually exposed to Hepititus B?)

Alright, now I know why I should hate her.

Well I wouldn't use the word hate, I don't actually hate the woman herself, the only thing I hate is what she does and the things she says, and I really wish she would talk to people who are on the spectrum and hear what people on the spectrum like me have to say.

Fallacy #1 - Autism does not kill. Low Functioning Autistic children die every year because they do not understand the dangers of actions they take. They wander into traffic and die, they wander into bodies of water and die, they simply wander away and die of exposure to the elements. Then there are other complications which can come along with autism which also cause deaths. Things like seizures.

Fallacy #2 - That your experience with autism invalidates anyone else's. There are parents who go through great suffering because their children don't just have autism, they have digestive or bowl problems, they are agressive, they are physically frail, they have insomnia which disrupts the entire family, and so on. Who are you to criticize these people for wanting what THEY feel is best for their child? What evidence do you have that they where not harmed by a sensitivity to vaccines?

Please note, I'm not claiming that vaccines cause ALL autism or even most. All I'm saying is that if vaccines can cause autism in just one case that it is not unreasonable for parents to want another look at the vaccinations we choose and the schedule we choose. Your blind defense of vaccines is as wrong in its way as Jenny's blind accusation of vaccines is.
