One of the guys I use to play D&D with was a prison guard he said a lot of prisoners do not make eye contact and are quick to anger just like I am. He would always get pissed at me when I got into fights because he was afraid I would end up in prisoner sooner or later.
He also said the inmates with special needs never speak up at booking when they were first brought into the prison system. causing many to go into gen pop. If they were lucky the medical staff would spot their weirdness durring the process of getting them into the prison system. Most of the guys in the mental ward or special needs section are faking it and know what they are doing. A lot of them have relatives with special needs and are imitating them. This was from the inmates own mouths acording to him.
