Fight to overcome autism gets major boost, higher priority

Seems like this is OUR version of the American dream, for those living in the states. Or a pipe dream. Honestly, I don't think they really know how to help us. I'd rather live in my misery right now, twiddling my thumbs.

I would call it a press release, there are departments to study many health problems, and a billion in funding does not go far. The bailout was to save 3 million jobs, by giving the States money to keep the same employees. That ran $850 Billion. States are laying people off, and want to raise taxes.

All they are doing is claiming to be doing something, putting a new sign on the door, but like the Department of Education, it is jobs for people with friends in government, and a new mission will keep them doing nothing.

Since the bailout we have lost seven million private sector jobs, nothing has been done but extend unemployment. Government can only create government jobs. With fifteen million unemployed, a normal boom economy might add three million jobs a year, so we have a five year backlog and rising, with no recovery on main street.

Putting autistics in the work force has a low priority, and maintaining government employment a very high one. It's the economy, but all I have been hearing is National Health care, run by more government employees, and they would have their own government health care.

It is called political patronage, getting your friends and supporters government jobs where they cannot be fired.

Like Autism Speaks, the government does not want to listen to the autistic, they just want to be in charge of the money.

In ten years they will write a report saying the autistic are different and they do not understand them. That will cost $100,000,000 a year.

^^ I can support what Inventor says with what I see every day. I work for a university where one of the departments does government-funded research in the field of Education. It is all useless, baseless, circular-thinking type of reports and studies, it doesn't help kids whatsoever. The employees there only care about furthering their own career and those of their cronies. They research and publish on whatever is trendy enough to get the most grant money at the moment. They've no interest in actually solving the problems they claim to study. Currently they're trying to develop some kind of product/scam-system that they can sell to school districts for mo' money, and they're getting government funding to help them develop it. This is at all at a low level where actual politicians aren't really involved, just school district officials and university research departments, and contractors. This entire circle-jerk is fascinating and disgusting to see from my outsider IT person's perspective. It goes on everywhere, our tax money does indeed create and support jobs, just not jobs that produce anything useful. Then we wonder why we spend all this money and our education system in this country just keeps getting worse.

*sigh* I guess the best thing they could do for the economy is fire the idiots!

Then unemployment would be total.

Our economy is based on employing them so they can buy things.

We have wars to keep defense industries running, making expendable short term single use products.

A huge number of the highly educated have government jobs, to prevent them speaking out about the government. Universities are centers for revolt in most places, here they are doing government research. Both have another retirement and health care system.

It is spending tax dollars for social control.

While I do not think it is productive, it does keep things stable.

There is a freedom to go into business, be autistic, and we have a huge number of government workers that study business, measure production, in scattered departments that do not seem to talk to each other.

Autism is like the old, the non working class that provides government jobs. There is really no reason for retirment, and even then we would preserve a lot of knowledge if it started at forty with a shorter work week, and continued for life with giving a few hours to keeping the world running, the idea of work work, work, then stop, kills a lot of people.

For a 10% raise, the work week could be cut to 36 hours at the same pay, and that would create 10,000,000 more jobs. Further reducing the work week by an hour a week starting at 45, would create even more jobs. 15,000,000 more employed consumers would more than make up for the 10% raise, and they would pay taxes and Social Security.

Considering that those born today may live to be a hundred, the current system can not survive.

Other cultures have other views. In poor South America taking six weeks off at Christmas, Easter, and a month summer vacation, is normal. France does about the same, and considers time off to be a health issue.

Americans are considered overworked slaves by Chinese rice farmers. 70 hours a week is inhuman!

As for the greatest depression since the 1930's a lot of the world did not notice, Mexico,and recovery happened quickly in others, France, China, it does seem to be an American problem.

We lead the world in government workers, people in prison, and the least productive educational systems. Our economy can only be called a Ponzi, for we do not produce long term value.

The good is we have Freedom. In the worst of times this is still the best place to start a business. Transistors, computers, cell phones, were not government projects. What starts here spreads over the world, we export technology, have it made offshore, and give jobs, money, and the new toys to all.

While we continue to impress the world with our thought in technology, we are considered socially primitive. We are. Cowboys and Gangsters.

Business has a simple basis, us against the world, and staying in business.

We chose this world, Free Business, and Social Welfare for the old and disabled, which created a huge government. Most of the world has neither, and still has a large government with an army.

Free Business works, now we need Applied Autism.
