In fact, that only makes it worse. That means there's an even larger population for them to shock, and anyway, it sounds like an even worse idea to try this on schizophrenics.
That something needs to be done does not mean this needs to be done. Suppose you were bleeding to death. Obviously, something would need to be done. Bloodletting, however, would not fix your problems, and should be avoided, even though-- perhaps even because-- the situation is so desperate.
I don't think the comparison with Christ is a particularly bad one, actually, and I question why you're so offended. Obviously, I'm not going to pray to them, but I worry that the reason you're so offended is because you view these people as subhuman.
All pain can be compared to Christ's, anyway, this being rather the point. If it couldn't, his sacrifice wouldn't be enough. Please recognize that you are talking about human beings made in God's image, and please recognize that you are condoning intentionally causing harm.
This "therapy" cannot teach anything useful, such as coping skills, how to balance a checkbook, etc. The only thing it can do is make these people more manageable. Are you seriously condoning giving up and making managability your goal for these people?
I don't see you offering to take in some African child suffering from AIDS, so does that mean you're not allowed to say the situation there is bad? (My apologies if that's exactly what you've done. If that's the case, you're a very good person.)
i'm confuse are you talking to me
