In a way, yes, it does. I've heard people say that you don't suffer from autism, you suffer from the people around you who don't understand you. And you can certainly say the same about being gay. Still, it's a waste of time trying to connect the two.

Yes but as far as I know most NT gays can communitcate just find and don't have all those issues with social interaction, eye contact, sensory overload and other issues. so its more likely their suffering will come mostly from other people having a problem with their sexuality......in my case even if people had treated me well I would still be sensative to light, I still would not be able to make eye concat and I still would have issues with social interaction.

Neither do I funnily enough. So it's more likely that my suffering is caused by other people, which is sort of exactly the same thing. I bet your eye contact thing is down to a psychological cause. Also, trying to link sensitivity to light with autism seems a bit farfetched. Quit trying to say all your issues are autism like it's some bigtop umbrella. Third, we seem to be wheeling and dealing just fine with each other, so this stuff about issues with social interaction seems to be a load of malarkey. Also, given how many constant posts I see about people with 'autism' seeming to have working relationships with each other I call your ideas coloured by your lack of self-respect.

I was talking about social attitudes toward homosexuality, specifically.

Knowing their stance on autism, they’d probably want to “cure” homosexuality as well.

This. I can hide the fact that I am attracted to other women, but I can't hide the fact that I have major issues with socializing.

Besides, if they tried to go on a campaign to malign homosexuals, they'd be beaten down by every LGBT activist nutjob within 100 miles. But if they did that to autistics, they'd get praised instead. :?
