autism speaks donates money to many websites and in return a logo or trademark must be shown.this doesnt mean autism speaks has any pull in the philosophical agenda of this website.oganizations like disabled world and disaboom support a lot of websites too and it doesnt mean a thing

I don't believe the arrangement to be simply one of a charitable organization donating money in return for showing their trademark or logo. I'm not privy to any personal information concerning this arrangement nor do i want to be; it's none of my business or concern. BUT, instinct, as well as logistics, tells me that when an array of resources and insider privileges become available to an individual who originally had few; more is at stake.

And, while a corporation donating money does not mean they have any pull on a philosophical agenda on a website they advertize on, usually when big money and reputation is involved; there is an understanding THAT your website's agenda can in no way conflict with mine. IF such a conflict occurs, money talks...........

i have no knowledge of any specific agreements either.i was only saying large groups like autism speaks or disaboom suport smaller sites as charity.without asking for anything but a logo or advertising.i know nothing of autism speaks relationship if any with WP.just because there is a puzzle piece doesnt mean A.S has any pull on the mind of WP.one thing i do know is that disaboom suports as social network called lovebyrd.com but there agendas coudnt be farthur apart

I see the puzzle piece as literally and figuratively a part of the whole. Like I said, before, it's none of my business or concern. BUT, i will leave you with this. I know the difference between an employee/employer relationship and the simple advertisement of a logo/trademark for charity purposes, only. And, with any employee/employer relationship, expectations or the asking of something in return for services rendered are inherent in that relationship.

Vermontsavant, i wanted you to know i read your comment. Often-times, i leave a comment hanging for folks to ponder or i decide to refrain from pursuing a matter that's going to lead to unfounded accusations. I want to make it clear that i think the owner of this website made a brilliant move.

i have clue what moves anyone making.all i was trying to say was before anyone panics.remember a org. like autism may fund thousands of websites but this doesnt have to mean they have any philosophical pull.it also doesnt mean they dont.but i dont find the A.S trademark at all menacing

I believe the association has been worthwhile for Alex and Wrongplanet.net, but I am not sure what Autism Speaks gets out of the deal.

I have yet to see any threads critical of Autism Speaks be aggressively moderated.

Doesn't really matter. I'm not here to communicate with Autism Speaks, just with other autistic people.

what autism speaks gets is plentyfold.

they get validation
they can now say: "were fine, even wrongplanet loves us"
they get exposure of their brand
they can now claim to work directly with autistics.

Are they saying wrongplanet loves us? Is there a distinction between the owner of a forum and the participants on a forum?

Are they really getting more exposure due to the partnership?

They could already claim to work with autistics because they have John Elder Robison as an advisor.
