I really dislike this idea because it promotes an "us" versus "everyone else" mentality.

I'm NOT posting this video as a suggestion for an Aspie theme, because it's actually a satire of separatist mentality.

"Not One Of Us"

It's only water
In a stranger's tear
Looks are deceptive
But distinctions are clear
A foreign body
And a foreign mind
Never welcome
In the land of the blind
You may look like we do
Talk like we do
But you know how it is

You're not one of us
Not one of us
No you're not one of us
Not one of us
Not one of us
No you're not one of us

There's safety in numbers
When you learn to divide
How can we be in
If there is no outside
All shades of opinion
Feed an open mind
But your values are twisted
Let us help you unwind
You may look like we do
Talk like we do
-But you know how it is

You're not one of us
Not one of us
No you're not one of us

Perhaps something more classical?

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.

(10 points if you know the rest  )

Issue is, as stated, different tastes. Best to come up with our own lyrics, mix some of the more preferred genres in a non-discordant manner, find those of us with musical talent (Not here), and go from there. So, step one, come up with original lyrics. Crack open your lyric and poetry sources, kiddies. Worst comes to worst a bad song comes about. It's always better to try.

As to "us" vs. "them", only if we let it get too serious.

We have seven different national anthems so far. I think that each person's past and experiences colours what they would choose for a national anthem. I also think that personality and ideology has a lot to do with it as well. It's quite obvious through my song of preference that I'm have a rebellious attitude against a cure.

In other words, my answer would have to be No. It's impossible for everybody to agree on the same song, because we're all individuals. If everybody was the same, both WP and the world would be a boring place. 8)

"Ay! It's gonna be okay!
Ay! You'll laugh at this one day!"

Here is another proposed anthem appropriately entitled "Odd One" by Sick Puppies.

To the tune of Rent's La Vie Boheme... Link

Aspergia, Aspergia's
A fallacy in your head
This is Calcutta
Aspergia is dead

Dearly beloved
We gather here to say our goodbyes
(Dies irae, dies illa)
Here she lies
(Kyrie eleison)
(Yitgadal v'yitkadash)
No one knew her worth
The late great daughter of Mother Earth
On these nights when we celebrate the birth

In that little town of Bethlehem
We raise our glass, you bet your ass to
La vie Aspie

To days of inspiration, playing hooky, making something out of nothing
The need to express, to communicate
To going against the grain, going insane, going mad

To loving tension, no pension, to more than one dimension
To starving for attention hating convention, hating pretension
Not to mention of course hating dear old mom and dad

OK yeah I'm ending it there. Let's not actually rip off Rent.

How about what almost became the Italian National Anthem after the Risorgimento? Name the choral piece, Va, pensiero, (go, my thought, on golden wing) from Verdi's Nabucco.

support in principle, but we need a country first.

No sense in putting the cart before the horse.

Ideal songs for national anthems include: the Winkie March from the Wizard of Oz or Revoluton Number Nine.
