Is being allowed to be cannon fodder really a privilege?

But it does feel a little bad knowing that your incapable of doing something to serve your own country, and I guess the message is said that aspies can't be "tough" males. That to me is pretty much heartache. :cry:


I dont think its that we cant be tough at all. More like we dont respect authority, have coordination problems, have adaptibility problems, would probably freek at the sound of gunfire with our sensory issues, and still more.

Not all jobs in the military are combat roles

The military also contains medical doctor, nurse, medic, musicians, Motor Transport, mechanic, cook, human resource specialist

Some articles claim that the military currently rejects 80 percent of applicants, for medical, criminal, or educational reason

Besides the MEPS, background check, and high school diploma, applicants have to follow policies about tattoos, ASVAB, financial dependent.

Some articles claim that the military has a TAPAS personality test. Applicants answer multiple choice questions about their personality

Not all jobs involve "cannon fodder"

Some jobs, like MARSOC and Intelligence have additional requirements

Being a pilot require a certain height

Why should he have to die, instead of me?

It doesn't make sense

That kind of feeling is called "survivor's guilt", and his being a victim of his own beliefs and choices (or possibly even a victim of delusion or deception) does not make you indebted to anyone. We might owe a so-called "debt of gratitude" to our ancestors who first fought for our freedom, but none of us owe our lives to today's military.

Sometimes I feel like my existence is unjustified

Because I did not join the military, have only had unskilled labor jobs, no precious lil "friends"

Long term unemployed

And I do not "help" anyone

Not even myself

Especially not myself

Hence thus I am just a public nuisance

But whatever

Not everyone has a job

And some jobs, like professional athletes earn more money than they are worth

And some jobs like psychologists, have no tangible product results

But whatever

It's not like everyone else's existence is morally justified

I just feel so ashamed that I am not a skinny smart handsome cisgender white man. Military. Combat engineer. Civil engineering. STEM job
