Was aware of trouble Imus had gotten into for racial slurs years before. And saw him on TV almost break down into tears at one point when he admitted that he "sometimes says bad things, but I am not a bad person". But I never got around to actually hearing his show until a few years ago. You could see him on camera do his radio show on C-Span.
But that was late in his career. He was ...nothing, by that time. Not offensive, not insightful, not exceptionally entertaining, but not drying paint either. Just a competent guy who reading the news with a bunch of buddies. Never could "get" what it was that he did that was so darned popular at one time.
