Unfortunately, I can't edit my original post anymore. I hope people interested in applying for this opportunity will keep reading through the thread to page 2.

Please note: Do not contact the UN Women staff member mentioned in the original message. This appears to have been a misinformation. Instead, please contact Lucy Richardson of the International Disability Alliance to nominate autistic girls and young women under 20 to be funded to speak at the UN Women event in New York: [email protected]

On the IDA mailing list, Lucy Richardson (IDA Human Rights Officer) wrote: "Apologies for the error and any inconvenience", so IDA took the blame. My guess is, though, that too many people contacted UN Women directly (she put "Please do not contact the UN Women staff member" in bold), so UN Women may have asked IDA to compile candidates or even pre-select. That may be bad news for autistic girls and young women as no autistic-led self-advocacy organizations are members of IDA and they may tend to favour their own membership. It's still a legitimate e-mail address, however, and listed on the website of the International Disability Alliance:
