"Almost like" is an understatement.  Some people do not care whom they hurt or how they hurt someone as long as someone gets hurt.

I wonder if the librarians who were fired over this misunderstanding have any legal recourse to get their jobs back. Even if they did I wonder if those in charge would just find something else to eventually get rid of them again. Makes me sad.

I'd disappointed the people who got them fired haven't faced consequences from decent neighbours.
