^ No; the contrary. Autism is multi-faceted and Asperger's is merely a subset. In fact, I am dually diagnosed. When asked, Lab Pet refers to self as Autistic, specifically high-functioning Autistic or 'Asperger's' and the diagnostic distinction may be moot. If one separates Asperger's from Autism then this is divergence.

Much like saying a daisy, which is a flower, is then DISTINCT from being a flower. This is not the case; a daisy is merely a botanical subset of flowers.

Do you think that most of your peers feel the same way?

I really like your video...

I wonder if someone could give me tips on how I might get Sarah to use a discussion board like WP?

One cannot know what another is thinking, but I do know those with Autism do recognize our unity. I am high-functioning (therefore, dually an Aspie, by Dx) but 'level-of-functioning' is not truly descriptive of Autism. Thank you for watching my video (Lab Pet is firstly a chemist, neuroscience at University)....much Autism research, and the application potential of Autism is notable! As another has stated (unknown who) about being Autistic, "...but I say to you, we are the cure."

Would Sara like to join Wrong Planet? Check out the Kids Crator - she would have friends that are her peers with similar interests. You may be able to guide her in this. Maybe you could show her the avatar images of other little Autists, then proceed. Hi to Sara.

Sara could learn in this way, surpassing others by virtue of being Autistic:

Thank you for the information for helping me to introduce Sarah to this online community I will try to guide her along the way...I would love to see her gain some independence.

I understand that you can not know what others are thinking and I do appreciate your comments.

I'm hoping others will chime in to this discussion, because in I've seen several comments from several people (in other discussions) stating they feel differently. I would like to understand why.

Just for the record I'm not looking to cure Sarah, I'm looking to better understand the world from her eyes.

I understand your tag line "same nightmare, different nap" I think most people do.
