We are "weird". The world doesn't like "weird" people. As simple as that.

We don't have a different colour, we don't have a different religion, we don't have a different sexual orientation, etc., and if we do, it's not because we're autistic.

So what is autism for them? It's our "excuse" do act in a different manner. They just cannot accept that we're different. So if we someone weird is autistic, but makes a major effort to fit in, they say that he's okay, because he manages to fit in, more or less, but then they blame him for claiming that he's autistic, and "using" that as an "excuse" to be weird.

Face it, the world doesn't want us to be who we are. They want us to be like them, and if we manage to do it, they'll blame us for not being 100% like them. So I prefer not trying in the first place. The hell with them.

And yes, call me a loser, but like Black Flag sang, albeit in a different context - "we're fighting a ware we can't win".

Blame weird on a societal norm expectation, weird not being accepted is the sole reason and burden of autism and then it all amounts to discrimination and tolerance is the solution for autism. Just doesn't cut the cake and I don't like the icing here. How about ice cream of any kind just not the above as the totality of the problem.

true, it is a major hindrance for many and for me the biggest, but i still have issues beside what tolerance can "treat", my sleepless nights and inevitable "burnouts" for example.
now these issues cn be remedied in other ways, but public opinion is the issue that is hardest to do anything about, as it involves a lot of personal fear for many people, about many issues besides autism as well.

I don't seem to have any problems with this issue of bringing items of concern to the public. Is there something specifically all I have to do is pickup the phone. First one of the pride folks that talks about sympathy I'm going to let them have it. i have sympathy for pride and I very much like to show it.

Tell me what do you want the public to know?

i dont want them to know anything specific.
i would like to see a shift in perception where differences are cherished instead of shunned.
we as a human race could show such wonder in diveristies, unheard of today, but i dont see it as realistic in the world today.

This is not easy peas. This idea and result is not simple. For the autism that is my job and it is not as easy as saying simple words. It is the social puzzle and my job and I am confident. I work alone in this process, do not bend to peer pressure and the methodologies are not for explanation entirely. The pride conflicts risk this and pride is more a risk then "society" if you will.

I will post on this site the progress I make in my area but this pride idea is not part of it.

Thanks.
